I’ve been in this industry since I was a teenager driving a dump truck for my dad’s company and eventually doing surveying and landscaping. Went to college for horticulture managed a famous 700 botanical garden and opened a landscape business 27 years ago doing everything from lawn care to land clearing, landscape design, installation, water features and managing employees and subcontractors. Why should anyone reading this care? Because that’s a pretty sweet resume to validate me saying that everything he just said in this video is 💯 on point! Everyone wanting to get into this business or just starting could learn a lot from this one video. Keep going, bro. You’re doing great things! Headed to track down your FB group.

As a retired businessman I will say this man offers great advise. If you are starting a business, whether landscaping or something else, LISTEN TO THIS MAN. He is wise beyond his years. His advice is good for ALL businesses.

When I do my own tree trimming work, I strip off the leaves for mulching, cut the wood down to size for burning (thus ash for the mulch) and discard the twigs. You are helping to raise consciousness and compassion with your most generous acts like these, God bless!!

Redo their landscape. Make sure the homeowner doesn't have a special attachment to the existing plants. You are a God send.

I've been watching you and others doing yard work and don't think I've used the word 'wow' before even tho it's very interesting and relaxing. But 'wow' came out of my mouth loud enuf that my daughter in the next room came in to see what was going on. That 'wow' was when you used your mower to move that heavy looking couch around. Amazing. By the way, we have a fairly long gravel drive and during my husband's life, he broke 2 glass doors, 2 back windows on his truck and 1 side window on my car. I told him it would be cheaper for us to hire a mower and he, the mower, would pay for all that glass 'if' he broke something. Of course, he wouldn't hear of it for something simple (his word, not mine) like mowing. Now my gr/son does all my mowing; Jim (husband) has been gone for 4 yrs and Ian ('gr/son) mows weekly or bi-weekly and has not broken a thing. Hey, Jim.....he was something, but I loved him anyway. lol.

Kevin, I know you get hundreds of comments but I want to really express how thankful and very impressed with your tips on doing the actual work, sharing your knowledge on the business side, your humor, etc. I no longer work and for the past approximately 3-4 years haven't been able to do my own lawnwork. I have always enjoyed doing it all. I had all my tools, nower, edger, weedeater, blower, hedge trimmer, loppers, pruners, pole saw, etc. I would put on the earbuds and get at it. It was my therapy and my exercise. I would be out there for approximately 4-5 hours. (Doing it correctly the way my mother embedded into my brain as a teenager) Its really hard hiring these locals who don't have experience , others too lazy, etc. Anyways, hopefully I'll be able to start slowly especially with tips I've learned from you. I just wanted to share my gratitude because all this lawn care KZfaqrs have shocked me. I feel like an addict...lol. Cheers and later on 🤘

New landscaping and an overseed follow-up are musts for this property. It's a great example of a small, simple front yard with huge potential. You don't have to spend a million bucks to have a great-looking lawn.

What wonderful jobs you do for these people. My adult son is 6'5" and has depth perception issues. (He lives with me). He has bought his own lawn tools so that he can do the work himself. We watch your channel so that he can get techniques and tricks to use on our yard. Thank you so much for everything you do and for making these wonderful videos about it.

I've had that kind of tree service people before and ended up cleaning up myself. Kinda puts you off hiring things done. Great on you for doing this for them and finishing up with leaves, mow, seed, and edging. It's going to look sharp when the grass fills in. I say go for it on the little landscape area - the final polish!

13 days before I went into labor I was still pushing the lawnmower 😂 cutting several properties in Texas. People kept telling me to stop, but I told them it's good to stay active while pregnant. Our daughter is 19yrs old now and extremely healthy 😇. Stay safe everyone ❣️
