My dad lives only 40 minutes away and travels all over for fun and my children and I haven't seen him in over 10 years. He has never even met any of his 8 great grandchildren and it hurts deeply. I do text with him occasionally because he's my dad and I've already lost my mom but he just has no interest and that hurts. He will go out of his way to visit his ex in laws whom he didn't like ever but now posts pics of himself driving hundreds of miles to see. You are very very lucky to have such warm loving families and it soothes my soul to see. I'm so sorry about your uncle Jared. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I have one son and we have never done anything like this. I have been alone for early 25 years now and am 77 years old and all I want is for my son and his family to love me. I have seen them once in 10 years. I do not want to say anymore and I can not see very well through my tears right now. I just love you all.

To your statement about time I say Amen. My mom was my best friend ever, and even through she passed away last year I am so thankful for the many times I spent with her. Towards the end we lived just a few blocks apart. We literally spent nearly every day together, every Sabbath too. That was such a blessing to me. She was 87, but I know I will she her again when Jesus comes.

My condolences 💐 Family is important.. so sweet what you are doing with family to create memories together. I lost my 59 year of old dad just 6 weeks ago. It was sudden so experiences like that makes you think about time and to make good memories together.
