China is a non-Muslim country, but with 30 million Muslim citizens. It’s relatively easy to find halal food in China compared to other non-Muslim countries. Every city in China you can find Muslim areas with a lot of halal restaurants. You just need to do your own research.

1 Majority of Chinese do not eat Baozi with sauce. Because Baozi itself is already flavorful. We are there eating baozi, not the sauce. Only when eating Xiaolongbao, aka, small baozi, people dip them with some vinegar and/or chili sauce. 2 When needed, put as little sauce as possible. Because these small shops have very few profit margin, they don’t expect the customer to use a lot of sauce. They didn’t charge extra fee for sauce like the hotpot restaurants. I saw a lot of foreigners put more than enough sauce into the plate and waste most of them.

Please don’t put too much food in one bite. Even though some of our people also don’t behave well, we still have our own etiquette in China. People call these kind of people 饿死鬼 in China, which means ghost dead of hungry.
