Have you ever had that feeling when you were trying to buy something, that you could just make...? Well, that happened to me when I was looking for an outer garment for my boyfriend. So come along with me through the design and the making journey of this gambeson/tabard and maybe even make one of your own!

Wonderful and totally wearable as a very beautiful winter coat! When I was young, I loved Romeo's doublet in Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet. If I'd had one, I'd have worn it with jeans, boots, and a linen shirt! Beautiful clothes don't have to only be for the stage or cosplay! You've reminded us of that.

Thank you for posting this! My husband asked me to make him a Hobbit-style Dwarf costume (to match my Hobbit one) and I was intimidated by the idea of making a vest/jacket of high complexity on top of his tunic. But you have made it so very accessible by walking us through the steps, one by one. Thank you so much! 🎉

Very nice. I really like the lace in sleeve, I might be able to make one because of this.

Yes, it saves you from having to sew the sleeves in, which is always the worst part 🤭
