4th Gen Taurus was a heavy car; but it also has some great technology in it.

I have a 2019 SHO. It is a beautiful car and is running very well. It is for sell because everything is tight under the hood and I am not going to want to work on it when it breaks.

My favorite thing about the SHO is that it can be driven year round. It’s actually great in the snow and doesn’t need to be put away for the winters. My least favorite thing is that it’s a little bit too reserved. I noticed when driving a 2.7l Bronco I could hear the intake and engine growling and with the SHO it takes some work and modifications to achieve that. I think a good upgrade to the SHO is the explorer ST. Those things are literally neck and neck with the SHO when they’re both stock.

@AmericanGTS, I do agree the SHO lack of theater. It is too quiet. If I owned one, I would upgrade intake and exhaust just to hear a little noise. I haven’t looked into Explorers but given that Ford doesn’t make sedans anymore, Explorer ST would be a great alternative. I haven’t driven in the snow but it’s great to have a fun car you can drive in all sorts of weather conditions! Thank you for watching and for sharing your experience with the SHO.

I love that the SHO is quite. Women love it also when it's winning racing and the other cars are noisy 😂😂😂😂

Recaros in a Taurus would be a nightmare daily driver. And I can’t really see people using a Taurus as a weekend car

@Gavin’s friend, I’m sure one or two people would have opted for a light weight package. But I do agree that most people who bought the SHO probably just wanted a fast comfortable car.

I have a 2015 FPIS Ecoboost(PopoSHO)and it has massive brakes. Needs 18s just to clear them; they work very well! I also have heated and blind spot mirrors.

Hi, the heated mirrors come on when you switch the heater controls to defrost the windshield. Nice review.

@Kevin DeMoss, The car does have rear defroster but when I turned it on, the mirror heater did not work. I also think if the side mirrors were heated on this particular car, it would say ‘Heated Mirrors’ or have the little heated mirror graphics. Thank you for watching and for the comment!

Bought it 2015 SHO at 57K millage. For over 2 years i Loved it until it hit 80K mileage. Always kept on maintenance especially oil changes full synthetic. Started having problems. Lot of things needed to be changed rotors, suspensions, swivel links, struts, tuneups, allignment, *especially the coolant & water* pump. I knew the water pump gonna be go bad eventually seeing other SHO has the same issues. Spend almost 2K fix that. If it was just the water pump issue, i would have been okay but it seems every month or so, something else needs replacement. Just recently the sensors went bad. Not to mention, having 20" tires comes with price. Even after new tires, they are prone to have leaks. Its a clean title and spent way too much money compared my other cars barely needed maintenance. I always love SHO but i didn't think it needed maintenance so much at only 80K ish millages. Had to sell it :( because i fear more things will get broken down. I don't drive recklessly but hit once a while i would hit the gas and smoke those mopar boats for enjoyment. I had so much fun but i wish it was a little reliable without constantly needing to repair here and there.

You bought it with 57k miles. When buy a car with those kinds of miles you are hoping that the previous owners treated it well and kept up with maintenance. It is likely that did not happen with your car. I have heard of the SHO going well over 100k with no major issues. Even the water pump and PTU on some last over 100k miles. Driving style and highway vs city has a lot to do with it.

@@iWillFightYouInComments I’m talking about all the other issues you listed needing replacement at 80k. Yes, the water pump can go at 80k but like I said if it was a of city driving that would not be too surprising.

I got a 2016 with 7000km on it and just now reached 30,000km. Still basically brand new. Also if you didnt know about the key fob and windows try pressing the unlock button once and then press ane hold right after. Your windows will open from the outside. Its great for hot days when you want to air it out and cool down before getting in. Great cars. Im getting an electric exhaust cutout real soon. Maybe chip it and get an extra 50 horses. 👍

I plan to put Wilwood 6 piston brakes on mine. Also BC coilovers and a Gearhead tune. That should make it a near perfect car.

The heated mirrors will turn on when you turn on the rear window defroster because your Taurus has the blindspot monitor it doesn't have that defrost symbol on the mirror and if your Taurus has an auto dimming driver side mirror it may take a little longer to defrost due to the thicker glass used

I own one and enjoy it, because I live up north and the AWD lets me drive it in the winter time (if I lived down south I would have bought a 392 Challenger instead). This car is basically a more modern version of a 90s Impala SS or Mercury Maurauder, it is a big heavy sedan that you can daily drive and is still pretty quick. As a bonus, this car takes tuning very well, a simple flash tune and 93 octane gas can bump the HP over 400, and if you want to get more serious, Livernois tuning out of Detroit can tune these cars to nearly 500 hp without having to upgrade the turbos or mess with the engine. The downside is these cars do not handle well, the reality is it is a very heavy car AND it sits up very high. So if you think you can turn this car into a poor man's BMW M5, you will be disappointed.

Owned one. Was initially excited, didn't feel as powerful as it should. Poor handling as well, Infotainment was incredibly buggy. Only kept it for a few years. I hated that the car just didn't deliver what I was hoping for. Maybe tighter suspension would have improved, but in any case I sold it and moved on. Was reliable with 70k miles, 40 that I put on it.
@JioniDrive
@JioniDrive Жыл бұрын
@Anthony Riles, I agree better suspension could have helped the car but even then, there is just too much mass to move around. I also don’t like the fact that the car is front wheel-drive biased and only sends power to the rear wheels temporarily. I would not buy it as my ‘fun car’, I would probably get bored with it very quickly also. Thanks for watching and for sharing your experience!

I own a 2016, and the issue is the car sits up high and it is very heavy. The reality (physics) of it is it is impossible to make this car handle like a Camaro or a Mustang. This car is basically designed to be a big sedan that goes fast and you can still drive on snowy roads, think of it as a modern version of a Impala SS or Mercury Maurauder, not a sports car that you take to the track.
@JioniDrive
@JioniDrive Жыл бұрын
@jeff5177, the car does make sense as highway cruiser and for someone who resides in snowy areas. But I do agree, it’s not a track car although I see people drag racing them.
