You should try next year on the 4th of July to go up to the top of the Mickey and Friends parking structure. You can see fireworks 360° around Anaheim in addition to the Disneyland fireworks. It's pretty awesome! As a former cast member in parking We used to close down the top floor of the structure and incoming guest would pay to park on top. They would bring lawn chairs and we would park the cars spaced out so people could spread out and watch the fireworks at night.

I love the retreat of the colors, and seeing such a HUGE crowd while they did it just added to my tears! Thank you for your service to all who have served and are serving. "All gave some and some gave all".

Hi David. My Wife and I went to Disneyland for our honeymoon in early July of 2006 and the Fourth was by far the slowest day, it was fantastic!

OK I’m almost mad that you went and filmed all this lol 😂 I didn’t want anybody else to know. I always go on the Fourth of July. There was a time back in 2015 where I actually got locked out of my house, long story short, I decided to go to Disneyland, and just brave the crowds. Everybody stays on main street. And waits for the fireworks, and they wait for the parade. The parks feel bare because no one is really there to be in the park and enjoy the rides. They do all that July 3 and 2nd. I always try to tell people just go on the Fourth of July is not as bad as you think. Mobile order everything and just try to eat and walk. Because they always take a while with tables and chairs.

Haven't done the evening at Disneyland on the 4th since we have a dog and are at the center of the most insane (illegal) fireworks show in San Gabrial Valley. But I figured it might be a good show with light crowds. We were there earlier.

I really hope you are correct, and now fewer people are going because I love going to Disneyland, buying every fast pass available, love to stay at California Adventure, and if all this means I get a better experience, GREAT! Nothing is worse than paying a lot of money and then being trapped in hordes or people.

We were there also. We bought the Plaza Inn fireworks dinner package. We were in the plaza inn area to watch the show. Not dealing with the crowds was awesome. Also the park was not busy at all until around 6 PM or so. Then everyone showed up. At the end we watched the oceans of people leaving. The show was amazing!

People are realizing alternatives for planning their free time. However, the 4th being a Tuesday not directly connected with the weekend might have had an impact.

Those hedges are a great idea! Stops people from taking those tables for HOURS to watch the Fireworks show and they can actually be used for people to eat

My pass doesn’t work on holidays, so it was fun experiencing the park with you virtually on the 4th. Almost like visiting with a friend. 🙂

Love the wall! It's very annoying when you're trying to just eat your food but people are holding tables for the fireworks! I've had to go all the way to Tomorrowland to eat before!

i opted out of fireworks and rode indy twice as a walk on during the show (it had just reopened after being down). the second time i got off the ride the fireworks just ended and the queue was 65 minutes. worth it!!

I was in Disneyland for 4th of July in 2019 and I was expecting chaos and huge queues... I was shocked, It was so quiet. Kind of loved it though cause I had not been in a few years and I'm from Australia so I don't get to go very often. I enjoyed the shorter lines.

This year the 4th of July is on Tuesday many had to work Monday and will work on Wednesday. Compare it to any other tuesday

We were there two years ago and it was chefs kiss!!! Magical show. I took a video of my children dancing the the music and I watch it at least once a week, plus the video of us telling them Disneyland was across the street and that’s where we were going for the next three days. I wish we had been there this year.

I have been seeing a lot of news and tweets about very low crowds for 4th of July like it's a problem. If I were a guest, that seems like the best day ever especially for a holiday weekend. When it's crowded, people are concerned. When it's empty, people still are concerned.

I was lucky enough to be at Disneyland 4 years ago on the 4th of July. Was the first day of my trip and my thought when I booked that trip was "Disneyland fireworks for the 4th of July? Yes please!"

I like to look at wait times from home here in Australia I noticed how quiet it was on July 4 Crazy! I thought it would be packed

I was hoping against hope that us believe key folks would somehow be able to get a reservation. Didn't happen but from the looks of it there was room for us in the day time! 😅

We were there for July 4th in 2021 and it was great. I thought the crowds were light because they were limiting capacity but maybe we are self-regulating now. 🙂 And the fireworks show was great and even watching it now on a screen, I was getting choked up. Disney knows how to do it!

I think since it was a Tuesday it was mostly locals coming later in the evening for fireworks. The live streams I saw last night in the park looked super super packed leading up to fireworks….seeing Five Fires come later in the evening….it looked totally nuts!!! So maybe out of towners came for the weekend (Sat-Mon) and locals just came for the evening maybe? That’s my guess.

I love going on the 4th of July! Most people think it’s going to be super packed so they don’t go but it’s my favorite time to go on my solo trip. Side question, how did you film in the Great Moments with Lincoln? They would let me take a photo much less tape it

We did head back into the park after the fireworks and it wasn’t as dead as you think. 25 minutes standby Big Thunder 45 for Indian and Fantasyland was packed unfortunately. As an out of town guest it still felt busy despite low wait times. At 10am Big Thunder was 45 min for standby. Too long for me to stand in the brutal UV index of 12 and I’m not paying $30 for genie. Sorry we missed seeing you as we were on the left rope by candy palace for fireworks too. Happy 4th!! 🎉

I was watching a Disney world video crowds were down also same day?

i was there and got on about 8 rides. wait time were exceptionally low. Had a blast, did start to pick up around 8ish for fireworks, but it was the perfect day to be at Disneyland/DCA.

I think guests are making their decision to go to the park more based on crowds now. People expect July 4 to be busy, so they decide to come on another day. The reservation system might be making people be more choosy with which days they go.

I love going on the 4th. Tends to be a very slow morning and light early afternoon.

I hate that so many key holders couldn’t go but also love that if you bought day tickets you had a much better experience due to the low crowds

My daughter and I were at Magic Kingdom july 4th 2015 and we couldn't walk without rubbing shoulders but it was fantastic!

I was there when it happen!🎉

We were there on Saturday and it was equally empty. Did a walk on for ROTR in 30 minutes. First time in forever I've walked on to almost every ride. Didn't even really need the Genie +. The longest wait time was Monster's Inc. at 1:15 minutes (not worth it BTW) then went to Spiderman and was in and out in under 20. Was less busy than ANY other time I've been there in 40 years.

It was a mad house right before and after the fireworks.

I was there and all day kept thinking there were so many people just walking around the park but the lines were so low it was odd. Though I did stake my fireworks spot 2.5 hours before the show.

Maybe the price point is now affecting attendance. If you know or think it’s going to be busy and you’ll need to buy Genie +, perhaps people are weighing the cost of doing something else, which would explain why it was busy just for the fireworks and the parade as you don’t need to pay extra for that. Single day people may decide it’s not worth it. And key holders will show up just for the fireworks and parade. It’s kind of sad. They used to be excellent at running a park.

Ok so the family and I went last year for the 4th. Completely different. Now when it comes to the hedges that they were using, totally understandable after going last year. BUTTTT. Last year leading up to the fireworks. The Electrical Parade was only a half hour prior to the fireworks then fantasmic was going right after so it was a cluster flip at the hub.

I just hope that Disneyland will be this slow come Christmas Day (I doubt it however). With the cost of the tickets being at their highest of $189. Hope that detours most visitors to go.

I am coming from Houston Texas enjoyed my 1st Plane Trip ever and Love this California Weather. I was there on the 4th MISSED you that day But I did 7 Rides in that day and got the best rides in Was about to walk in I think around 7:45-8:00 pm Ride Closed for Maintenance on the Matterhorn and later then it Reopened we got to ride that too, Enjoyed Star Wars Rise of Resistance, Run Away Mountain, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, It's a Small World ( I survived the RIDE Lol it was great) and Jungle Cruise with a total of 7 rides on July 4th and I celebrated my Birthday that day Early which my Birthday lands on July 13th turning 37. I was happy to re-live my childhood dreams.

It was just before 7pm when you were checking the wait times. I was walking through Main St at this time. Just before that there was a parade then immediately after the parade, a ton of people started camping out on Main St for the fireworks. So the park was not that slow around 7pm, the wait times were just low because people were camping out. By the time the fireworks started the viewing areas on Main St/Castle and Small World were all at full capacity. We watched in Tomorrowland as we usually do and even that was almost full. Earlier in the day around 3-4pm it was pretty light. I assume because it was really hot out and people probably wanted to wait until it cooled down to show up. If you have a reservation, there is no real hurry to show up early unless you want to be right in front of the castle for fireworks. My theory is that there's no fear of being denied entry due to park capacity like in the pre-reservation days so folks take it easy and tend to show up late. I don't like the reservation system but I do not think this instance shows any failure of it or incompetence of its use IMO.

I’m from the bay area, I made my reservations for July 2 & 3 over a month ago and kept checking but couldn’t get one for July 4.👀🤷🏽‍♀️😭 Sunday and Monday were busy.

Almost all Magic Keys are blocked out for one thing like myself (Imagine key holder here) and another thing everyone is having barbeques at their family and friends at their houses.
