After a 17-point deduction, Eddie Howe's AFC Bournemouth pulled themselves from the grips of relegation to secure their Football League status on the final day of the season, at home to Grimsby Town.

I remember talking to a few Bournemouth boys in April 2008. We, Swansea, had been promoted to League 1 whereas they were on their way down to League 3 and, as it shows, almost out of the Football League. So to see you get promoted to Premier tonight is amazing stuff. Even makes me tearful as it has so many similarities to the rise of Swansea City. Look forward to seeing you again next year boys :-)

best day of my life!! was only 10 back then, crazy how time has flown and how far we've come, sad to see this and remember eddie and all he did for us, but on to new adventures!!!

This is still very close to the heart - an emotional day and it fills me with great pride at what the fans, players and staff achieved at AFCB on that day. Now for the Premier League - unreal :-)

Actually so emotional .. what a football club .. i still remeber being a junior cherry and doing the soccer schools in the school holidays , the old ground with the big red bricks all around . Together anything is possible ... utciad

Man Utd fan here and I am gutted Bournmouth are relegated. Under Eddie Howe they were always a delight to watch. Their rise to the premier league deserves alot of recognition and I hope that they return to the top flight soon. Cheers.
