Ironically, after taking my umbrella out of my bag to film this video, I forgot to replace it and got rained on on my way home from work... :(
But regardless, here's some things that have helped me to deal with the rainy season, despite my intense hatred for humidity and heat. I hope it's helpful to anyone struggle like I did during my first summer here.
Thanks so much for watching! I'll talk to you soon. :)

I live in LA so I don't have to worry about the rainy season, but I'm sure your video will help many people in Japan. I read what you said about your JRA making you more empathetic, and that really comes through in your videos. You are always trying to help others, a very admirable trait. I am happy to see that more people are subscribing to your channel. You should soon be up to 1,000.

Thanks so much again! You're too kind. I try to look on the bright side about JRA, and it has definitely given me a new outlook on life and problems that I try to use to my advantage. I really hope some of my videos at least can help others. Moving to a new country isn't easy, so I figure all the information I can put out there is good. (: Thank you again, I hope you're having a great day!

Hi Eevee, thanks for another great video. I learned a lot from your tips and now I'm more prepared for Japan in June! When you mentioned mood changes and depression happening during the rainy season, it reminded me about SAD (seasonal affectiveness disorder) where the reduced daylight/sunlight causes people to feel depressed. It's pretty much always rainy season in Vancouver, so I try to make the most of each sunny day as well :)

Thanks so much for your kind comment! I'm sure you'll deal with it much much better than me, since you're used to it already. You'll do great! :D

Wow I never considered the idea of not using a/c but it's actually a really good idea. During the summer, I never wanted to leave my apartment because it's not humid AT ALL where I'm from (California). I really felt like a prisoner in my apartment. I'm going to try your advice when I go back to Japan next month!

I'm the exact same! New Zealand summer is dry as anything, and I find humidity really stifling. The no A/C thing really helped me just because at least my body was prepared for the heat when I opened the door. I hope it works for you too! (:

Hi I'm going to Japan next week, and didn't realise that it was the Tsuyu until not too long ago. Will be there for the next 2 weeks for a vacation! Do you think it's gonna rain a lot ?
@AstroVee

StereoFootwork Well, the weather is wildly different depending on where you'll be in Japan, as I mentioned in the video. :) I'm not a meteorologist, but in Kansai it's been dry mostly lately - we've only had one big storm so far and the forecast is clear. You can always Google the weather forecast for specific places you're going if you're worried! Enjoy your trip! :)

When talking about Japan and rain no one ever mentions raincoats, it's always umbrellas. Are raincoats not a thing in Japan?
@AstroVee

I am not sure about others, but for me it's too hot in rainy season to even think about wearing a raincoat. Too sticky and gross for extra layers! I don't see other people wearing them much either, so I'm guessing it's a similar thought process. (:

Thanks for the reply. As a fellow New Zealander it just seemed really odd to me that no one ever mentions them since they're pretty commonplace here.

Pyrosaurus-Rex Yeah, thank you for mentioning it! I had actually never thought of that because the rain here is so different from NZ rain. In NZ rain it's so cold that a coat seems like a necessity haha.
