But at least if it is in a sheath on your person, you will not impale yourself if you slip and fall. Also when he stored his machete after laying down, he put it into the wood above him. I would worry it would fall out of the wood onto me. I would not put it there. It’s worth being careful out there, especially with blades. One wrong move and there is no hospital to stick you up, or even the microbes that can infect a small cut... gotta be careful.

Thanks fully there is a neighboring island which is 5 x bigger which has lots of drift wood and also many more coconut trees so this will be where I harvest those things, rather then taking from the little island 🏝
