Hi Luke try a double hook snelled rig. Pin one under the belly (because you are using sinkers) and one through the mouth. Have the sinkers toward the back of the fish. This will keep the live fish facing upwards.

Hey luke if your casing Jewish I would recommend for you to buy a bait runner and use it with a circle hook and let it run twice then on the last run while it’s running wind it so your drag kicks in then you just got to bring it in.
@PBJPRODUCTIONSTUDIOS2 ай бұрын
I suggest asking stores for certain lures for certain fish you're trying to catch , like yes keep at it with live bait for your missions, but with lures you will definitely bring a fishy home for Aria! Just thought it makes sense to do as you're already out there with all the gear because if live bait fails then a lure might work ❤

The fish target the eyes of the bait so when you hook it try to hook it like at the back of the head a little above the spine also can use like a double hook rig with one hook at the back of the head and the other back a bit and set your drag to be loose so that when a fish takes the bait, it can run without feeling the resistance of your line if it does it properly will spit your bait out and let the fish run for like 3-5 seconds than grab your spool and yank back on the rod that should for sure make sure to set the hook because they are circle hooks they should mostly set themselves in the corner of the fish's mouth, I hope some of that helps igh oh and a big tip is get rid of the hair it might be scaring the fish away haha

Hey brother, that was a great catch that little kid made. If you notice he had a small hook that’s one thing. I always wanted to tell you you need to change the size of your hook. You keep fishing with too big of hooks you can catch 10 or 15 pound fish with a size 2 hook and for all those other small fish use a four or six and when you’re using hooks to catch bait fish eight or 10 this will help you hook up a lot more those times that you get bites and hook up is hitting your bait, but the hooks are too big for them to take. Thank you so much for your great videos my wife love to watch you good luck and safe travels, brother.

8:00 if you look how the fish is on the hook theres no way a fish is going to get hooked by it you need to push the hook threw the fish more exposing the barb unless the fish will just rip your bait off or its face 😂

that first fish you lost you left way to much slack. When u were winding really slow with no tension, you’ll get em next time though
We catch those mulloway here in South Africa, you would've easily hooked them using paddle tails especially at night. If using livebait, a trace with 2x hooks would've been better or if you decide to use one hook, you should've bridled a piece of line or Dacron through the live baits eye sockets and attached a hook so your hook would've always been proud.

Hi Bud great content, to increase your success rate change your rig. Keep your bait off the ground with about 50 cm of line. You will get the rig from Zoo look fishing. We catch them in Sa between the 10kg and 50kg weight.

For the fish that hang around the edge of the Jeti you could use a net for them and try bait casting you don’t need any bait and the only thing you need is a lure and try that, I’m just saying you don’t have to do that

Use a snell rig for the mulloway let’s you put a hook near the head and one near the tail
@NotMuchGamingАй бұрын
for bigger liveys like that i find success in using a snell knot double or triple hooks but when you can for smaller liveys instead of just doing one hook put the hook through fully once then just stick it through the body then the fish is stuck swimming in circles, i’ve had heaps of success this way and you lose the live bait less
