I don't know Sarah...must have slipped through the net. 🤷 So much content to watch out there, it's easy to miss the odd video. At least your comments aren't being marked as spam now. 😆 You must get out to Grinah Stones. That little patch is perfect for Hillary.

Sorry to hear you felt the cold. I have a Etherlite XT which I've used at -10 deg C combined with a Sierra Designs Cloud 20 (-3 comfort) and never felt any cold through the pad itself.

Yeah, I was a bit surprised that I felt cold tbh. I've had it out in those sorts of conditions before and been fine. It might have been the quilt, not too sure. I am a cold sleeper though.

Thanks mate. Shame I haven't got a better camera, the Action 3 is rubbish in low light. Yeah hefty old pack that was. Luckily was an easy and relatively short walk.

Ha ha, yeah you can always rely on the good old Nature Valley bars. I always seem to have a stash of them in my bag. Yeah, it's a dead comfy pad. Just was a little cold on it this time round. I wonder if anyone will ever manage to make the ultimate comfy, warm and light pad!

A sleeping bag will give you a bit of a false reading on the pad as it will fill in the holes and insulate that way. Also heard those sts mats have to be blown up really hard to actually insulate any.
@trickofthetrail
@trickofthetrail 7 ай бұрын
Ah, never thought of that mate. I have taken that pad out in similar conditions before and been fine on it, so might have been okay if I'd had a sleeping bag. Yeah I also agree that you need to have that pad blown up hard, which is what I always do. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I'm going to check out some of your videos.

@@trickofthetrail That hole filling insulation is the selling point of the klymit pool noodle called “Inertia” that I kinda wanted because of the weight. But useless with a quilt unless you put your puffy under your back to fill the holes. Enjoyed the video! I have not been very active lately, life taking it’s toll, but might get back on the KZfaq wagon eventually :)

Another nice video mark.. Qq- how do you find the exped backpack.. looking at one at the moment..
@trickofthetrail
@trickofthetrail 7 ай бұрын
Thanks Paul. I like the Exped backpack. It has been rather superseded by my Waymark Embr, but you have to factor in the price difference there. I might do a review of it actually, maybe I will on my next trip out, assuming I can fit all my winter gear in it. There are a few quirks with it, but I do find it comfy, so long as you don't go about around 16kg. Let me know if you've got a specific questions and I'll try to answer them.

That Sea to Summit sleeping pad is huge when packed. Why werent you using your Nemo Tensor Extreme? And what is the folding table you were cooking on? Thanks.
@trickofthetrail
@trickofthetrail 7 ай бұрын
Hey Steve. Yeah, it's very very bulky and also heavy. I hadn't purchased the Nemo Extreme at that point. You'll see it on my next video which was filmed a week after this. The table is the SOTO Field Hopper. It's quite expensive but is absolutely worth it. Best camping table I've had by far. You can buy it from Valley and Peak.

A lovely video mate 👍 what tent do you use? I'm on the hunt for a 3 man tent with a £250 budget. Any recommendations? Cheers
@trickofthetrail
@trickofthetrail 7 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for the kind words mate, glad you enjoyed it. The tent I used in this video is the Stone Glacier Skyscraper. It's an awesome 2 person 4 season tent, but is rather expensive. A 3 man tent for a £250 budget? That's easy! Your tent is the Sierra Designs Meteor 3000 3P. It's an amazing tent for the price, a good all rounder, weighs in at a little over 2.4kg, so not too heavy and will do you well for 3 seasons, but can get you through the winter, so long as there isn't bucket loads of snow or very heavy wind. I have the 2 person version and have had it out in the snow, wind and rain. It was my shelter when I did the Cumbria Way a couple of years back and has served me so well. It's currently for sale via Valley and Peak for £254.99, but they tend to sell out fast: valleyandpeak.co.uk/products/copy-of-sierra-designs-meteor-3000-2-person-tent Hope that helps mate.
