Your emergency survival skill is pretty darn good. I'm so impressed to see you and Jaylena being so calm joining forces together to remedy this scary unpredictable disaster. But of course, the best part of this video is Ember's twinkle-twinkle performance - what a darling little girl! Hoping for you and your family's safety.

Absolutely Ember was the Star ⭐️ of the show! ♨️. But daddy really showed that pine tree he wasn’t playing with ice! that drop kick flip Into the arm bar! Man he was fast as the car going by!! Jaylena was in the house trying to figure out where all that ice came from so she could be ready next time pre planning for some rain! ☔️ 🧊 lol 😂 My 3 favorite parts!

❤ We had an ice storm in Oklahoma once where the trees were cracking apart all over our state. A million trees died that night. Electricity was running up and down the power cords; shocking bright blue auras providing a beautiful, eerie, terrifying light show. I was parked under a tree in front of my house that night and went out and moved my car just minutes before that tree cracked in half and a huge chunk of it fell right where my car had just been. A few hours later, the tree in our backyard dropped a huge bough on our house - lightly brushing against my bedroom window. So many people suffered a lot of damage to their homes. We lost our power for five days and had to go stay with a friend. About 100,000 people lost power, many for three whole weeks. The whole state looked like a war zone. We've had ice storms since then, but never as severe as that one. I am so thankful y'all are safe. I can imagine quite clearly how scary that was. Your angels helped protect you guys.

Isaac, your house can withstand a falling tree much better than your camper can. I wouldn't even go in it to cook in an ice storm going on. But that's just me. Y'all be safe.

I am 72 years old. I grew up in Central, GA, and did not move until I graduated high school. I only remember it happening once, but we had a terrible ice storm. We lived in town and were only out of power for a couple of weeks. Sadly the families that lived in the country were out of power for almost a month. Georgia is full of pine trees and we could hear them cracking and breaking everywhere because the ice was so heavy on the trees. I hope your power is back on and you did not receive much property damage.

I am so glad you guys got that studio set up as your bug out bunker with the wood stove going. One tip for keeping warm in these situations is WOOL blankets. They keep in the warmth on your bed and keep out the moisture from your bodies and from your mattress. You put one WOOL blanket on top of your mattress (between the mattress and the fitted sheet) and then you put another WOOL blanket on top of all of your other blankets that you cover with. Being sandwiched between both WOOL blankets keeps the warmth in and the moisture out.

We get an ice storm every few years. Made a point to once a year around mid fall to do a walk around the property to clear any unstable looking trees. Might be a good idea for no trees near power lines. I keep a tote full of lanterns and camping supplies at hand. Thankfully I stocked up on propane canisters this last summer and was able to help out some family who ran out when power was off. A few years ago during an ice storm I had no power for 8 days so since them I’m a bit prepared lol

Been reading some of the comments and agree with the ones I've read. I think you guys have a lot of resources with the extra fireplaces/stove, wood, power up machines, etc. In an emergency we only have a fireplace in our small home, but what we have found is that if the power goes out we can(if we need to), close ourselves into a smaller room, it helps the remaining heat in that room keep us warm as needed until the heat comes on. Also we have a lot of extra quilts, etc. that we have been able to layer on the bed. We don't have a generator which we should, but we pull up the blinds during the day for light and we only run basic needs things if the power goes off or on we immediately plug in internet or phones, and we also have oil lamp and lots of candles. Our neighbors use their grills when its winter and things go out but I know in your conditions some of those things weren't possible. We always keep bottled water also. I think ya'll had a lot to work with and think you did a great job, my only advice that I didn't see mentioned was probably not upload videos or watch unnecessary tv etc with your power source and try to occupy your time in other ways, but I know it's a little harder with a little one, who by the way did Amazing during this all. Hope your roof and ya'll are okay and have seen the last of the storms for a long time.

In Eastern Kentucky we have had 2 severe ice storms. The 1st we had no power for SEVEN DAYS with no generator. We had no city water. We had a well so no electricity no water. I scooped water from the sump pump and melted snow on the wood stove to flush the toilet. We blocked off rooms and we had heat from the wood stove. Candles and canned food. No phones period. No TV. No tablets. Trees falling everywhere. Cards, books, crayons and coloring books and games. We couldn’t even get out in a 4x4 and go to town. Our road wasn’t touched for 5 days. We stored cold food outside. Y’all had a walk in the park. Charging battery banks and movies and seeing power trucks driving at an almost normal speed and you are whining about it. The next storm we were out for 5 days. Try some true Little House on the Prairie shit and then you can whine. We did it and didn’t complain. Grayson Rural Electric Co-op did a FANTASTIC job!! Grateful for all the other out of state co-ops and companies who came to help.

Having a generator has saved us each and every time. Also having a gas fireplace. I would prefer a wood one, but I live in a subdivision. This ice storm trapped us because we couldn't get out of our subdivision. Being prepared every year is going to be important from here on end. Because it seems like every winter we get these ice storms. Having those energy, power sources very smart. You guys lived in a bus you got this! Thanks for sharing your adventure.

Ember is small and probably won't remember this adventure with dad and mom but she definitely looks happy and healthy so y'all just ignore peeps comments of negativity because it's just too easy for people to say, you know what you should have done. My best to y'all always!

New sub here. Happy to see that you & your family are resourceful. I can't imagine many young people in today's environment being able to survive 1 hour without the Internet, little lone make it thru the night comfortably without electricity 🤣😂 Hang in there, better days ahead. Thank goodness you have a common sense head on your shoulders.

You're amazing to stay calm throughout it all. Years ago, I lived in an area that took our whole power grid out. No power for over a month, that was a nightmare. It even took my power line to my house . I thought it was going to catch on fire . Be safe out their !

If it is below freezing outside turn off the water to the house, open the faucets. Water heater turn off. If tank is not full and power comes on but water lines are frozen the heater will burn out elements and damage water heater.

You can make bread with flour and water. Bring some water to a boil you’ll have to do it over fire since you don’t have electric and pour some flour into it and let it come to a boil. Maybe just put a 3/4 cup of water in a pan and then put the flour into it maybe like a cup and bring it to a boil just let it keep boiling as the water disappears take the flour out, flour your hands in a surface and then need the flower. If you don’t have all purpose flour, add some bacon powder to it preferably like a fourth of a teaspoon and a little bit of salt. Be sure to salt it and just need it and eat it and put it in a dish put a cloth over it let it rise for a couple hours and then you can put it into a frying pan over some heat and let it cook that way kind of like corn bread but you still gonna have bread. Either keep some cans of soup on hand and some cans of milk on hand in flower. If you don’t have it an extra water if you don’t have it for back up for when this happens. Thank God the tree didn’t fall on his truck and kill him!

Every place ive lived since I moved out of my parent's house has had unique challenges, but usually to do w/electricity or water. The right size generator can solve both of those issues, but I never owned one because losing power overnight didn't happen but a few times in 50 yrs. I won't forget the sound of water spewing out of a busted pipe fitting late one night as my water began to thaw out after 3 or 4 days of single digit temps. I had to bust out sheetrock under a lav to find the leak. I went from sound asleep, comfy cozy under layers of blankets and quilts to wide awake, problem solving with only a flash light. That was in the first house I owned. I had no clue how to patch drywall. What a goof I was at 30. KZfaq is an invaluable resource for tutorials. Thanks for teaching us how to use power banks.

Shake flashlights powered by a magnet are great because they don’t take batteries. Another advantage is the light is blueish so when your kids shine it in your eyes you don’t go blind 😂
