We designed and built homemade campsites but one we had 1 hour to complete and the other we had 100 hours! We had to speed run building the first camp! We then flipped a coin to see who would have to survive in the 1 hour campsite!

Camping rule 101: close your tent always, preferably with bug net. You think of everything when camping, sleeping, food, activities and fun things maybe some drinks- what u must never ever forget: bugs are a thing! Nothing worse then being up all night because of bugs in your tent

You should start with the long build, as a way to build anticipation of what you're really working toward. Then, you've got the short build and you are encouraged to make it as good as you can, rather than just getting it done quick. Also, since you still had 20 minutes left, I think it would have been fair to give yourself a 10 minute timer when you had to go back to the store any way to get a bed.
