The Long Journey Home is a new procedurally generated space survival game where you and your crew get stranded an epic distance from Earth while attempting the very first warp jump. Obviously it didn't go well, and now you must meet various alien lifeforms, land on procedurally generated planets, keep your crew alive, and conserve your fuel and resources so that you can, eventually, get home.

ABOUT: The Long Journey Home
There are a million worlds in the galaxy. Only one of them is Home.
It was supposed to be a short test run - a quick flight to Alpha Centauri and back. But when mankind’s first experimental jump drive goes wrong, a misfit crew finds itself trapped on the wrong side of the universe - alone, injured, falling apart. The only way back… is through.
Explore an endlessly shifting universe. Form alliances with strange aliens, from the noble Wolphax Knights to cruel-minded Ilitza slaver empire. Harness your crew’s skills in everything from research to archeology to diplomacy. Learn the laws of an often hostile universe, and make tough decisions that may change it forever. This is pretty awesome! I also love the gravity warp in the space time you see when you are floating between worlds. (That's the grid you see for those who don't know what I'm talking about) The developers defiantly did their research in the scientific theorys of space, and that's all I'm saying :D

That's the strongest ship hull integrity I've ever seen, considering how many times you rolled it and slammed it into rocks. lol. This game looks awesome.

At 10 people and 4 to a crew, that’s 210 possible combinations, multiply that by the 4-8 hour gameplay and you reach 840 hrs. Minimum playtime through all combinations, and 1680hrs. Maximum playtime through all combinations, plenty of hours.

Saw this last night and found it on sale at Instant Gaming for less than $3. Takes a minute to get used to the Lander controls. (UGH) - But it is fun. I still have yet to make it back home. :) GSP's - I have lost count of the games I have picked up because of you! :)

Has anyone else noticed that 37.8 kiloparsecs isn't actually *that* far? I mean, in the scheme of things. That's only a little more than the diameter of the Milky Way. According to the ever-accurate Wikipedia, the nearest major galaxy is 780 kiloparsecs away. So methinks they may have over-sold that whizzing passed multiple galaxies thing.

*Daedalus* , at one point that was a legitimate project(albeit (different from this, and)eventually put on indefinite pause when the "space race" cooled off...) alongside the Icarus(recently revamped and updated) by B.I.S., or Orion and the Longshot, and propulsion development series like NERVA, which actually got a new lease on life, well not really but sort of, in the new VASMR engine, but I suppose the comparison of any similarity would be mostly superficial in nature. And then there's also the Starshot and Lightship, although none would seem to match the "exuberance" present in fictitious visions for our future accounts of exploration, it would seem we still have many options to explore(lest I remind anyone who might care of great and frankly surprising successes in microwave energy transmission in solar sail sattelites, and the "ion drive" for DS2 probe, as straightforward as that name might get; plasma here we come, or should I say -- have plasma, will travel!) ...in ways of how we might go about exploration of greater depths of this vast and still mysterious universe...

Also, going by stats and overall design I'd go with *Ulysses* (why so tragic?? (But they did go with Knossos(not a very happy place that was in a greater scope of things), and Daedalus, for a genius who's son burned up so tragically(kinda like Phæton)) He took forever to get home..? Not to mention the Illiad? The Trojan War...) or *Endurance* (in second place for me personally, for Ulysses would seem a far more stable choice for a humanity's first attempt at a "jump-drive" technology, and by such an incomparably, inconceivably dangerous test, not to mention the distances involved(would mean no rescue of any kind, total self-sufficiency, but in space that's usually the thing that you sign up for), then again that would be the point...) over *Discovery* (also seems to look a bit like an aquatic speed testing vehicle, or something out of Star Wars), but you've gotta love that style and 2001-esque aesthetics of *Endurance* (should've been renamed Endeavour for my fav. (Space)Shuttle and Ship(HMS, also the Beagle!! Since space is presented so "Darwinian")), very classic, very realistic too...

Interesting stuff, didnt even know about this, not until very recently. Personally I'd say _the best line up_ for a crew ready for any emergency that might arise during a maiden flight would seem to consist of, based on given information, of the engineer, and yes I'd pick her and her experties over the test pilot, astronaut, mission planner(or maybe archaeologist or botanist depending on how alien we're going to get), and the physicist or researcher if physicist's personality is just too much of a mesh for others... but it seems like we'll definitely need him if we're ever to return... And, would anybody need a reporter in space? I mean, this is a test flight, but we know to expect an emergency, so... Or why anyone would ever need or even agree to put a corporate executive in space is just beyond me... what is this Weyland-Yutani Simulator 1.0? Or would that be 2.0?

it's pronounced dead a lis. also at 34:00 that planet is a gas giant. your lander was taking damge because you went too low, and the pressure was too high.

Indiana Jones wasn't a looter or collector, but he wasn't exactly innocent either. What he did was pretty typical for the time, minus the whole fighting Nazi's thing. He went out, located artifacts, then either sold or donated them to museums.

...this whole story of how he explained it... is he playing star trek: voyager the game? like, think about it, they both jump through a wormhole/portal, and are on the other side of the galaxy because of it with a damaged ship, and hey try to go home
