I do. Mike about that thing you 'coat' your pancakes with, Man ,you gotta be hungry to eat that, over here , we call that " sirop de poteau" , in English that would translate to "telephone pole juice" , you have to taste our Maple-syrup produced over here , it tastes like heaven by comparison.

As I wrote at the last video, : you produce the best overland videos available on the 'tube' ! Full stop. Being a a fisher and a hunter myself , your videos get to me , big time ! And I mean it . Every little thing you film yourself doing every little gesture, that's sooo close to reality ,... It speaks to me , .,. It grabs me , just keep them coming . You really really found your niche , don't change anything....despite what some people might say some day... The way you spend sooo much time improving and testing mods on your Jeep it makes me feel like I'm living my early days all over again. Oh and btw wanted to mention., that Sweden looks so much like here , (except for the 16-18 hours of daylight), the flying-blood-thirsty insects , the lakes , the fishing, the forests the logging roads .... Finally, what is called your cooking round plate ? What brand/make/model ?
@WorkshoptoWilderness
@WorkshoptoWilderness Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment, it's really nice to hear that it all resonates with you and that you enjoy the journey. I really enjoy these outings with the camera or without. It's all pretty organic to film because its just what I'm doing anyway. The drone has helped with that because I don't need to get out the jeep and setup long distances laborious shots that make it feel staged for me. I would like to film some longer excursions but I find it so hard to be away from my 3 year old right now. I guess we will all be travelling together shortly so that will be a fun thing to document. The cooking platform is called a muurikka 48cm. It's a traditional swedish outdoor cooking platform that is generally used on a fire. I've modified mine a bit for stove use. I've never enjoyed cooking much but I really enjoy cooking on the muurikka. Thanks again for the comment and for watching 👀 🙂

As for the fly fishing, just keep practicing at every moment you get, I'm not a fly fisherman, my specialty is more float fishing as I originally started out in the old country ( England ) and basically stayed with it, I normally fish four to five times a week, depending on weather and how I feel at the time. Keep it up and stick with it. It will eventually become second nature.

Really like your videos man! I'm building my XJ to get it working again, and hopefully take my wife and dogs on a field trip like that. @WorkshoptoWilderness
@WorkshoptoWilderness 2 ай бұрын
Appreciate you watching and glad you like them. Ah nice, sounds like a good reason to get the XJ field ready again. I don't have much in the way of self-defense. I can't carry a firearm here unless I obtain a hunting licence, and I'm hunting. My firearms licence is in the uk, and soon to expire, unfortunately. I carry a kind of self-defense spray that you can use on bears and humans if you must. I don't normally feel too vulnerable out here, but there have been some odd encounters and places that I've got bad vibes from and bailed.

@WorkshoptoWilderness
@WorkshoptoWilderness Жыл бұрын
Its possible pump advancement or something just getting picked up by the mic. These diesels are quite loud and nocky in general. I can smooth the engine right out by retarding the pump and delaying injection but you loose all the top end power and egt's sky rocket.

What sort of EGT (temps) are you concerned about when you say it spiked? What is normal / abnormal for the VM in your opinion?
@WorkshoptoWilderness
@WorkshoptoWilderness Жыл бұрын
I would start to back off the accelerator peddle at 620c. EGT is only an indicator and I imagine that the combustion temps are much higher. This isnt a problem for a while but if you ran it like this on load with 650c plus temps consistently you would melt a piston. There are other factors at play though like fresh air getting rammed in by the turbo, oil lubrication and the surrounding material conducting the heat from the pistons. Also the explosion isnt touching the piston crown. But its safe to say that with a cast alloy piston you shouldn't run the engine at 620c plus for extended periods of time, changing down gear will drop these temps immediately or backing off the peddle.
