Using an ampfibian 240 volt 10 amp to 15 amp protection device on the Jackery explorer 2000 plus when using it as a household backup power supply when the grid goes down.

In this video, I'm showing you how part of my home is powered by an SG 2000 plus solar generator via the ampfibian. With this solar generator, I have access to power whenever I need it, whether it's during a power outage or during peak hours.
If you're looking for a home power solution that's eco-friendly and sustainable, then you need to check out the SG 2000 plus solar generator! This generator is perfect for providing power to your home or business, without putting a strain on the environment. Thanks for watching!

Glad you showed this because I'm thinking going to solar when I purchase my house near the lake . Believe it or not I was inquiring about one of those units .Thanks David

It's like we're on the same wavelength! I'm glad my video came at the perfect time for you. It's always exciting to explore new options, especially when it comes to sustainable living. Just make sure you don't forget about the lake view while you're busy going solar!

The extra lead with the RCBO did nothing but allow the current through. It's rated at 10A or 2300W and should have tripped given the maximum wattage in the test was 3600W or 15.6A, although it may not have been carrying the overload long enough. We saw the output of the Jackery as high as 3600W even though it's maximum rated output was 3000W. This video shows the Jackery can over-perform for at least the time you had the kettle and toaster on. I would assume it has inbuilt over-current protection, but maybe not given this test. I would think given a longer test time, the RCBO or the Jackery would have tripped or broke..... my 10c worth......

Correct on all counts. The Jackery will trip after 30 seconds of more than 3,000 watts. It can run at 6,000 watts for that time. I showed this in the previous Jackery video I created.

Looks like your car is already ahead of the game, but have you tried to connect it to a generator access point yet? You may find it will not work. But hey, it's always fun to explore new gadgets and see how they can enhance our driving experience.

That kind of current regulator is actually needed on the EV charging circuit. And how much does it cost for the generator inlet circuit ? That is a fancy brand new switchboard or is that a custom switchboard ?
@DavidStanton
@DavidStanton 7 ай бұрын
The ev charging circuit is not part of my change over switch even though they share the same sub board. I had all of this done while the latest round of solar panels was installed to my 3 phase system so I can't tell you the individual prices.

@@DavidStanton not everyone has solar as there is alot of extra work to do before that. So is that kind of switchboard job expensive ? Im assuming any electrician can add an inlet to the lights and power point circuits and a switch to go between the two. I have 3 circuits for powerpoints and one light circuit. Maybe the inlet could have the current regulator on it instead but its not future proof and best external. Ive had mine upgraded but the vintage enclosure was never replaced. The box was put inside that sadly.

Dan, you could ask an electrician to instal a sub board inside your home and ask for a change over switch for the light circuit and one 10 amp power circuit (the one that your fridge is on). That way you could have a solar generator like mine in a more secure location and use it as a backup power supply for essentials. Or a more economical situation is no change over switch and have a few desk lamps or similar and simply plug them into a solar generator like mine. Keep the solar generator near the fridge. I hope this helps.
