I’m 2 weeks out from getting my puppy and I’m so thankful for all of these videos to get me prepared! Would you recommend getting two separate crates in the beginning, 1 for the bedroom and 1 for out in the living room for during the day? I wouldn’t mind doubling up on the training to introduce both crates but I don’t want to confuse the puppy in any way either

Alpha Wolf thank you so much, I’m sooo excited!! Sadly I couldn’t get a rescue as my brother has pretty bad allergies and all the ones we looked at didn’t seem to have lower shedding dogs. I live in England and generally there are lots of border collies and huskies which would just be awful for his allergies!😭😭 when I move out though I really hope to rescue my next dog. We know a really kind and reputable Labrador owner who decided to have breed his Labrador with a poodle so we’re having a mini labradoodle! I’m very excited but not sure he’ll be so little from the size of his paws🤣🤣

I will be receiving my puppy in a few days. This video is very reassuring to me. I am concerned about walking outside as he will not have had all his shots yet. (will only be nine weeks old). I have a privacy fenced yard, never been any dogs there. I’ll make sure he stays very close to the house, not the fence and possible neighbor dogs proximity. Will that be safer than the street? i needed this video. thank you! was legit googling what to do my puppys first day right before it uploaded. so okay. the first day we get him.. we dont get them until atleast 8 pm.. do i still do all this stuff at night. our bedtime is at 10 pm.

Do the best you can! That's all we can do as pet parents. There is no perfect answer, but just do your best. If you get your puppy that late, I would focus on having a calm and relaxed introduction to your home.

GREAT question! You can walk the pup in your front yard or back yard, just getting them outside first thing (in my opinion) is key!

What are top 3 treat recommendations for 8 week old puppies. Also do you recommend greenie bones? I want to make a rice heat pad for his crate. Have you tried one of these?

That's a tough one... so many things I recommend! ha. Specifically for 8 week old pups, I would start introducing raw foods into their diet (assuming they're eating solids now). Secondly, contrary to some, it's not too early to start training! Obviously keep it light, short, and fun - but I have fostered 8-10 week old puppies that were easily able to learn basic commands. As long as I made it a game with lots of play and reward, it tired them out and enriched their day. Finally, you can start potty training now - they're young, and they can't hold their bladder young - but starting now will make life easier later... I sadly don't have experience with a rice heat pad :( I linked some videos below that hopefully help you! Annika Manalang if it’ll help you I absolutely will! Net: go slow. Allow the cat safe space/place to retreat easily if needed. Reward dog for ignoring. Let them sniff on either side of a closed door for several days at least. I often recommend have a leash on dog so you can grab easily and quickly if they start chasing cat (always monitor). Go slow 😍

If he’s vaccinated it should be good! If not just walk him in your yard. I also recommend to find a holistic vet, who is open to minimally vaccinating

I believe you said your dog was lunging at cars and for that I recommend to always hold on tightly to the leash so your dog does not get hurt
