I agree, Charlie's mental composure was incredible. Proven even more as he took a second to breathe and thoughtfully responded to Jeff's question post game rather than emotionally react immediately. Well played man.

That pause-then-respond moment (and I loved how it was awkward for a second, you could see Kenzie's face getting anxious), and then delivering the most composed answer to a ridiculously tough question in a highly emotional moment, was the most impressed with a survivor contestant I've ever been. I liked both Kenzie and Charlie a lot, so I was not disappointed, but boy oh boy did Charlie's stock go even higher for me. What a kid.

I was really impressed by that as well. Like he mentioned in the interview, he kept his composure much more than other players throughout the season, and he capped it off with that at the end.

Maria took a million dollars away from him because she was bitter and jealous. I can almost guarantee that if their positions were swapped, Charlie would’ve voted for maria. Such a shame

So bitter & jealous, and she wanted to be a good example for her children. No, Maria you ruined that when you did rock paper scissors to decide who to take to the Sanctuary. Also when Kenzie won the final immunity challenge, you put your disappointment on full display. Then of course your betrayal of Charlie by voting for Kenzie, because of the 'fire in her eyes'. You were so transparent, not a good example. Happy for Kenzie (love how she always comforted anxious Ben), sad for Charlie, he did deserve to win, but utterly disgusted with Maria.

Maria's choices of not choosing Liz for food, trying to throw Ben under the bus, her jury vote and logic behind it... showed she really was a snake in the grass. I wouldn't want any part with her after the game of survivor.

Charlie tried to throw Kenzie under the same bus for wanting to blind side Tiff. They will get along great. It really is part of the game. She really should have taken liz though. However she didnt have to. It may have cost her the game.

@@danielhoward8354 - I don’t recall the exact moment or how it went down, but at least there was truth to it. Maria was straight out trying to defame Ben. I get deception is a part of the game, and she was desperate, but it was such an obvious and blatant lie. Like… common.

Charlie lost due to Maria's vindictiveness but ultimately the jury was faced with giving the $1 million to a humanitarian who devoted herself to others, or, a strategist who gave himself wholly to the game. I thought it was "outwit, outlast, outplay" and therefore cannot see any reason why Charlie did not win. Full marks to the radiant and compassionate artiste, Kenzie, but this was not an award for "most Popular/Best Liked". Charlie was robbed and Maria is holding the gun.

Nothing but love and respect for Charlie. He managed to be so graceful after the game despite a pretty bad and confusing betrayal. Kenzie is great and a good winner but can’t help but Charlie really deserved it as well.

I hope he's okay. I was rooting for Kenzie but what Maria did was absolutely brutal....it has nothing to do with who Charlie is as a person, Maria just isn't the person he thought she was, and that's also a tough pill to swallow.

I don’t think Maria would have voted for Charlie even with a “flashier move”. I think she was dead set to get back at him and was a sore loser. Just shows how hypocritical she is when she was trying to get Charlie voted off. I bet Charlie would have voted for her if their positions were swapped and that just sucks. Great season.

He played the survivor game and voted her out to play his game. That doesn’t mean Marie had to vote for him just because …. It’s survivor … you shouldn’t expect anything. He should have known better.

I like Kenzie, she was my winner pick preseason, but it's hard not to feel like Charlie deserved it more. I don't mind Tiff sticking up for her #1, but it seemed like she belittled Charlie's game at ponderosa. Also, Maria had no reason not to vote for Charlie and for her to say that she voted for Kenzie because she won at fire felt like a weak excuse. Charlie has every reason to be bitter with her, especially with how she treated Ben in the game as well.

After final tribal, I thought Charlie was the for sure winner. An amazing performance by Charlie, his threat management was soooooo good. I think he wins that season if more information came to light.

I have so much respect for Charlie! He stayed strong and level headed even while losing the most weight. And the way he showed so much class after he found out Maria didn’t vote for him and even after the last episode, he had to defend Maria on social media because of all the backlash.

I definitely believe that as well but would have loved to see him rewarded for playing a really solid game. Kenzie seems like an awesome person so no slight against her or her game but heartbroken for Charlie.

Charlie played one of the best strategic games of the new era, he controlled nearly every vote post merge, worked with everyone on the jury and still kept his threat level low. Props to Kenz of course, but Charlie deserved the W. Really goes to show the jury votes for who they like the most, not necessarily on merit of gameplay

I - as many people who watch this channel - love survivor for its strategy. I'm so deflated to see one of the best strategic games in recent memory conveyed effectively with charisma lose. Kenzje played a great game but I can't help but feel disappointed.

I don’t think y’all realize survivor is more than just pure strategy. He might have had the best strategic game but that doesn’t always guarantee you the win. Your social game is just as big of a factor to winning as your strategic game. I don’t even think the jury gave him credit for playing the best strategic game of the season. Even though we saw it in the tv show, I think most of the jury thought of Maria as the best strategist, and Charlie just tagged along. That mixed with most of the jury liking Kenzie more then him led to her winning.

@@kermitsewrside410 that’s a great point, there have been a lot of winners who won because they were simply more liked by the jury, even though their gameplay was second or third. The piece that feels off is Charlie and Maria were shown to have such a close bond and the “more than a game” dimension made me believe Maria would vote for Charlie because of their 27 day connection.

@@Mamomain That’s definitely true. I honestly think that came down to Maria being persuaded by other jury members. I don’t think she really thought about Kenzie until people on the jury talked about her. And then after hearing that and then watching her compete in fire and the little speech she gave after I think Maria actually saw Kenzie as a true competitor. And like Charlie said, people probably told her “ya Charlie was coming after you very early into the game.” I think all of that ended up swaying Maria in Kenzie’s direction.

I've never felt more disappointment from a Survivor finale. Charlie played a better game: plain and simple. Charlie was strategic. He managed his threat-level perfectly. He knew the right time to take out Maria. He kept doors open. He did it all while being respectful towards everyone around him. Kenzie did not treat the people on her original tribe well. I even felt at times she displayed bullying behavior towards Jess and Bhanu. Kenzie did NOT deserve to be crowned the winner of this season. Charlie, by far, displayed more respect and deeper layers within his game. As a fan, the wrong person won Season 46. You could not convince me otherwise. Maria was the hardest person to watch on this season. Forcing Liz, who was starving at the time, to play "Rock Paper Scissors" was the most disrespectful move I've ever seen someone make on this show. It was humiliating and defeating. Liz was so hungry that she played into her game. I believe if Liz wasn't literally starving to death that she wouldn't have participated in something so demeaning. Maria not voting for Charlie was beyond brutal to watch. I also believe that Q's vote was complete BS. You should never vote for someone to win Survivor based off of needing money. Everyone needs money. I thought Soda, Tevin, and Hunter were the stars of the jury. They went into the vote with the right mindsets. All in all, I feel like this season is a waste. Maria would not be invited over to my house.

Completely agree with your analysis of Charlie and Kenzie. I agree Kenzie was pretty disrespectful, I would be scared to be in Kenzie's orbit in real life. I know she'd bad mouth something about me to make herself feel better especially if she saw me as a threat to her reputation.

People like Charlie do not win Survivor for exactly this reason. The low life like Maria, Q and Kenzie cannot digest the fact that Charlie is a lot more dignified than they are, and therefore cannot bring themselves to vote for him for the win. It happens every season, the moment they find out he/she comes from money, they decide not to vote for him/her in the end.

So Soda claimed that there was jury perception that Charlie couldn’t differentiate his self from Maria… but Tiffany suggests the opposite by telling Maria that Charlie wasn’t really with her since early merge? Sounds like Tiffany really had a lot of jury influence campaigning on Kenzie’s behalf

@@tbhkedwards ..Stop trying to find reasons to come at Tiffany ...The votes would have went the same - it is obvious who Tiffany was gonna vote for, and regardless, Maria was set on her vote. The only other factor was Q's vote, which was changed by Kenzie's response to his final question. Otherwise, I believe people would have voted the same. Charlie's win depended more on Maria's support, because it was all very split (understandably). Tiffany stood by her #1, Maria did not.

Tell me: WHO did Tiffany "mind control" to vote for Kenzie? Maria claimed her vote was based on the "fire" ...Q explained his vote was based on Kenzie's response to HIS (not Tiff's) last question, which he felt was a more honest response. So, did Tiff had "mind control" over Tevin ..someone who RATTED on Tiff? And it was OBVIOUS that Venus was gonna vote for a WOMAN to win, regardless! So, MISS ME with that...

@@Lashid4uno one’s saying “mind control” except you, unless there was an edit I missed. Most/all juries have a leader, someone who is more influential than the others. It’s not a knock against anyone, that’s just how social dynamics work. Especially when jurors like Soda and Tevin barely played the game with anyone in the final three. They had to rely on information they got from other jurors, and Maria was the only Siga juror and she didn’t come in until two days before the end of the game. And whatever her true reasoning was, she clearly had no intention of advocating for Charlie.

@@JNDReacts A small but transparent example of Tiffany trying to guide the vote and set the table for Kenzie was in her opening statement during final tribal : "Also please understand, we are not looking for Taylor Swift lyrics. We are not looking for pop culture and rock & roll references (*you can actually see whatever little light Ben had left in his eyes go out right here). We are looking for serious and thought provoking responses". That's a shot at Charlie and a shot at Ben before they've even said a word, but no sassy put down for Kenzie conveniently enough; and all this while claiming to be speaking on behalf of the jury. This instantly puts Ben and Charlie on the defensive ("don't do this, don't be yourselves") and means they have to consciously dial down parts of their personality to appease the jury while Kenzie is allowed to feel comfortable and free to just be herself in a game where authenticity was a huge part of each of their success. I like Kenzie so I'm not mad about the result but I find stuff like this so annoying. If you're gonna campaign for someone, do it openly. That's annoying too but at least I don't have to sit through this charade where I have to pretend you're being fair and objective. I also really hope they go back to the old jury format because this version gives certain jurors more power than they should have in guiding conversations during final tribal.

Not to throw shade...I think the shade is well deserved! At the very least, it should have been a tie and Ben would have voted for either and the other would feel less betrayed/sad (and happy/accepting for the other) at the single vote outcome vs what we had here with Maria voting for Kenzie because there was "fire in her eyes". Also we see here Charlie is wearing a Ben shirt so this tells me these two are going to continue their amazing friendship (similar to Austin and Jake in S45).

@@PawpiChoolo you have a fundamental misunderstanding of the game and human politics if you really believe that. likeability will get you farther in life than anything else and kenzie knew that and played into that aspect of the game from day 1. she arguably played a smarter game than charlie in that respect. Even Soda said in the reunion that her heart said kenzie but her head said charlie. people are not inherently rational creatures. We are guided by emotion more than reason. That is why the social players always get far and often win. Kenzie was far from a sheep. Ben was a classic sheep/goat.

Charlie was by far the best overall player in my eyes. Unfortunately for him, Kenzie was really good with the jury. His biggest mistake was not convincing Ben they needed to get rid of Kenzie at 4. If he got Maria's vote, he probably gets Ben's in the tie breaker. One of the best runner ups we've had.

@@emilyl7048 I only say this based off the fact that the final vote came to a 5-3. The 3 people who voted Charlie ended up deciding to do so during the final tribal (Liz, Hunter , Venus) meanwhile, Q who admitted to changing his vote from Charlie to Kenzie, making it 5-3 and not 4-4 , because of his question that he asked (what will you do with the money). I agree that it’s not THE reason Charlie lost, but I think it’s very clear that was the question that changed the votes from 4-4 to 5-3 (Kenzie winning).

Again, not dissapointed for Kenzie, just unfortunate the clear favorite didn’t win because of a non game related reason.

My vibe from this interview is him being Uncle Charlie never happened. Especially with Maria's exit interview answer about Kenzie wanting to start a family, when Charlie's answer was practically the same. Charlie would have wanted to obviously start hiss career first.

My biggest thing with Charlie and Maria is that they both actively said that they would be friends after all this. He was supposed to be uncle Charlie and there was supposed to be any hard feelings. They said that they would vote for each other in the end and that they understood that they both couldn't make it to final three. What gets me about Maria is she actively said all this even in front of everyone. Just to turn around and do a complete 180 and not do it. Then in the finale after show Jeff asked if anyone had changed their vote last minute and Maria did not say she changed her vote. Meaning that Maria had no intention of voting for Charlie in the end. She out of that in front of everyone and on national television! I respect Charlie so much for being so continuously kind and gracious through all of this. Charlie was my favorite and I wish you would have won. But like Charlie I am happy for Kenzie as well. I hope Charlie gets a second chance.

4:42 If Charlie had pushed to make fire Maria would’ve just turned around and justified her Kenzie vote as he clearly wasn’t confident enough in his own game that he felt he needed to make fire. This cast just watched Heidi put herself in fire, set the record for the fastest time, take out the front runner of the final 4, and still only get 1 vote to win (from her number 1 ally on the jury).

I would love to see Survivor do an experiment and hide the identities and voices of the final 3 during the final TC. And then have the jury vote and explain why they voted the way they did. It would be interesting to see a scenario like that.

Everyone, makers sure you watch Nerdteiment exit interview with Charlie as well to hear his communication with Maria after they played. Seem she changed her mind a few times and was affected by seeing the show. And now she will say some interesting stuff in the exit press. Seem that their relationship deteriorate more after the show

I think in hindsight the only thing Charlie could’ve done better was pick a different number 1 to strategize and play the majority of his game with. I think Mo would’ve been a better pick, she seemed pretty logical and game minded. But idk if she would’ve had more influence on the jury than Tiffany anyway.

Maria had lots of stock pretty words but showed her true self at the end of the show. Charlie I hoped you'd really tell the jury at the end all that you did, not just living in maria's shadow. You played hard and won challenges, strategized. If you'd reminded the jury of that in OBVIOUS terms I think you deserved to win. I like Kenzie and she survived that first tribe, but... but...

Tiff and Q voted Kenzie bc they were long lasting allies. Hunter, Liz, and Soda voted Charlie bc he actually played the best game. Q and Tevin voted for Kenzie because of what she said she would do with the money. Venus voted for Kenzie because she was the nicest to her. Maria voted for Kenzie because she is a salty witch. So, MOST of this jury is an emotional jury that does not respect the value of the game, but their emotional FEELINGS which upsets me. The face of the season should be the one that actually played the game. Not because of some sad story about you working when you're young. I hate that Kenzie had to bring that up. This is a game, not a charity. You should deserve to win because of your game play, not your upbringing and that should be irrelevant when making the decision.

She exaggerated the situation and would've said it was her game play to take her to the end because no one would want to vote for a rich, snarky woman. To take a ride to the final 3 and be underestimated. She would've used the whole money situation to drive votes her way as well. She said she only has thousands, not millions.

5:51 Appreciate the honesty from Charlie. If The Fire Making really got to the point that they felt matches were going to come out, then that just makes Maria's "reasoning" all the more seem silly. I appreciate Charlie's take on him winning the strategic aspect of the game, but accepting the juror's appreciating Kenzie's social game more.

@9:50 I recall Tiffany mention that in her exit press. It’s interesting since Kenzie did put Tiff’s name out there yet Tiffany never found about that until the episode aired! Jury management is part of the game and it’s great to have an advocate for you in the jury, which Tiffany did for Kenzie. Sounds like Maria had some bad blood in ponderosa but regardless, I really enjoyed watching Charlie and hope he comes back to RHAP for a deep dive with some TS lyrics!

WHY IS IT that EVERY season, y'all find some black female to take your disappointment out on, when a white male doesn't win? It was OBVIOUS who Tiffany was supporting (considering her facial expressions, gestures, etc.), but she didn't "bully" the jury, or have this mind control over the jury, as y'all are trying to make it seem. The votes would have went the same - it is obvious who Tiffany was gonna vote for, and regardless, Maria was set on her vote. The only other factor was Q's vote, which was changed by Kenzie's response to his final question. Otherwise, I believe people would have voted the same. Charlie's win depended more on Maria's support, because it was all very split (understandably). Tiffany stood by her #1, Maria did not.

These past few seasons the winner is always the one who is most liked instead of the one who played the best game which Charlie did. If you were a true survivor fan you'd see that. Kenzie played a great game but not as good as Charlie.

Tiffany didn't "poison" the jury - STOP it! Y'all do this EVERY season, as you did with Katurah last season. Q changed his vote, due to how Kenzie's response to HIS question (which had NOTHING to do with Tiff's "influence"), and Maria claimed that she didn't vote for Q because of the "fire" ...The votes would have remained the same - the only other votes that could have been "swayed" by Tiff was Kevin, because I ALREADY KNEW that Venus would be voting for a female!

@@BigfloXOXO via rhap jury interviews, Tiff told maria that charlie had turned on her earlier after the hunter vote. Tiff said charlie told her to keep the idol to vote out maria. Which led to Tiffs blindside. But tiff (knowingly) changed the context to maria to sell that charlie had betrayed and was shady all along. Making maria feel charlie was not genuine with their friendship. It was only after the final tribal at poderosa that maria found out the truth from charlie that he only told that to tiff to make sure she didnt play her idol for the blindside. By changing the context, tiff "poisoned" the perception of the truth.

Shes a smart girl. Thirdly, there is no "my truth" or "tiffs truth", there is simply the truth. Objective. Lastly, Charlie has no agency to control the game still going on in ponderosa. So being able to predict and have foresight to act on something that has not happened yet and its something he cant control is ridiculous for you to even suggest. No offence.

Charlie truly deserved the win in my eyes. He was one of my favorites from the start, and he proved to be a great all around player. Maria robbed him of his win. This finale should have had a different outcome. Maria showed her true colors (Bitter Betty), whereas Charlie demonstrated class and dignity. So glad that he had the opportunity to plead his case. He had great responses. They should have had a fan favorite vote!

Charlie, so impressed with such composed, smart, kind and strategic gameplay. You will be so successful in life! From Maria’s interview as to why she didn’t vote for Charlie: “It started at fire making” when it was the most pathetic fire making of the new era. They were close to needing matches. “When Q asked about money and Kenzie said, etc”. I hate this question. How they will spend the money should not matter. It should be about gameplay. “I went with my heart” so you didn’t give the money to Uncle freaking Charlie. 🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍 Nothing against Kenzie but I don’t believe Maria for a second. I think it was an ego vote. She didn’t want Charlie to win because she didn’t want to believe that her partner contributed and played a great game too she wanted all the credit. If she couldn’t win, Charlie couldn’t win.
