A moment for everyone that watches this for the first time. Everyone thought she'd fall down on her face and had no chance and frankly that she'd be an embarrassment, and in the next moment everyone watching saw their own dreams as possible. That is what Susan Boyle did for the world.

@ JoshSheff, oh Josh, I pray you can find something you would like to do to get your mind off your troubles and get the weight off your shoulders. Been there done that! And it’s never too late to make your dreams come true. 1. I wanted to bake bread from scratch mainly due to the shelves at the grocery store being empty just before a hurricane was coming. But I found some simple recipes that I thought I’d give a try. And I bought a cheap stand up mixer with dough hooks to do the kneading. Wow. I was so shocked at what I accomplished! Now I can make any breads and rolls I want. 2. I always wanted to paint on canvas, but even with watching tutorials, I just couldn’t do it. Until I found the technique of abstract painting. I got so good, I sold paintings right out of my garage. And had neighbors requesting I do special artwork for them, which they paid for. 3. My husband was a carpenter and taught me a lot about tools. So, I jumped in and started building small pieces of furniture. And again, people bought my work out of the garage. And some ordered special pieces. And then I started retrieving items from the street people had thrown out. These were solid wood pieces. I sanded them down and ended up doing my artwork on those. After I learned to bake bread, I realized I really didn’t have a big enough counter space to do it. So, I built a 7’ work table for my kitchen. I couldn’t find a pattern to build it, but had the plans on my head what I needed. The thing is, I had to build it upside down in order to measure and then glue and screw it together. My husband told me if I was able to do that, it would only make me a better carpenter. And when friends and family came to see it, they were astounded. Their reaction was “YOU made this??!!!” They couldn’t believe it. I learned all these things in my later 60’s. I’m now 72. I didn’t write this to brag on myself. I do these things because they bring me great joy. And I hope you can find something that will do the same for you. Like the saying….when life throws you lemons, make lemonade!!! Sorry this is so long. But I wish only the best for you. Keep your emotions up. God bless you. Take care and be well.

When I first saw this years ago I knew right then that walking off the stage at that point made perfect sense. She had conquered. The details of the contest were practically anticlimax, although they would ultimately lead to the career she had dreamed of. Life and hardship had almost killed her dreams, but she rose like a phoenix. Once in an interview someone asked her if she was a champion, speaking to how successful she had become, a winner. But she turned to the other meaning of champion: the verb that means taking up someone's cause. She said that she championed people who had dreams and didn't feel they could achieve them, to let them know it was possible.

I've noticed that after Susan Boyle these shows we're more open to all types of people that were Desiring to become a music artist and not just his typical stereotype of a music artist. Susan Boyle paved the way for so many people that would come after her. She also sold a lot more albums then other pop stars

I loved your reaction to this because I cry everytime I hear her sing it. The song is from the greatest musical of ask time and no one has ever sang it better.. It's an emotional song if you listen to the words 🎶 "I dreamed my life would be.. So different from this hell I'm living.. My life has killed a Dream.. I dream 🎶 it's pure magic and she is perfection.. She is disabled and took care of her sick parents her whole life and was always bullied but her day finally came to shine and not did she shine.. She has several records and is worth over 50 million .. Who's laughing now? 👏🥰 💕

Susan and me were both bullied in Blackburn. Susan because her learning difficultes and me for being gay. I left to go to university and I never went back.

It's actually really disturbing. If she'd gone out there are been an average singer they'd have continued to treat her in a derogatory way. They shouldn't have been so small minded and mocked her regardless of whether she could sing or not. The fact that her being a great singer is the only thing that made grown adults show her a bit of decency and made them realise the error of their ways is ridiculous and shows what kind of people they really are.

She spent her life taking care of her mother and before she passed away she promised her mother that she would go and try. Tho she did not win BGT she won the world over with her voice and story. She actually got to sing on stage with Elaine Paige (one of her idols) at one of Susan's concerts a dream come true for her am sure. I have always hated how they rip her to shreds over the way she looks it's absolutely disgusting because she had done her hair put on her best dress for all they know those words could have literally killed her as u never know how close to the edge a person can be. U see I don't understand the judges as they say they are against bullies. Mind u it's an early in the series with piers (vile mouth) morgan which no doubt rubbed off o Simon and it's before Simon had a child which since has calmed him with his comments so he is not as vile as he once was in the beginning. Understanding what u say to people can destroy someone. Just be nice to people the world would be a wonderful place if we all did.
