Kia Ora from New Zealand 🇳🇿🫶🏽 From the moment he started scaling the fish with the Paua (abalone) shell, I was hooked. From the cleaning the jetty and leaving the offal for the birds to the climbing a freaking orange tree and picking fresh greens, the multiple trips up and down the stairs to the pro fish handling and no wastage. I love this video, it makes me miss my grandparents more than usual. They worked hard too and lived by traditional morals also without complaint. I wish this couple nothing but the best. Love the pup too!! 🐶
hands down, the dedication he is giving. knowing the reason he gave. “since customer are paying to go to his remote restaurant”, he is bound to give the best service he can give even at his age. is mind boggling. the fact that he is given a michellin star is a testament of how good he is of what he is doing.

how is wanting to provide the best service mind boggling? says a lot about society that good service is so hard to understand for some people
All I can say is that Japanese people are very hard working and very passionate towards their job! I admire these old people who still working and do a lot of tasks everyday! Looking forward to visit Japan soon! My dream country!❤❤❤

Just finished reading a book called ikigai by Hector Garcia n Frances Miralles ... and he is an prime example of true meaning of ikigai " the happiness of always being busy" . God bless grandpa n family 👪
My mom had hands and fingers almost exactly like this man's. She was also a restaurant chef for many decades, and years of hard work and arthritis will do that your fingers. Much respect to this man because his hands tell a story of a life dedicated to his craft.

The knobby hands of a hard worker are the most precious and beautiful in the world, as are the hands of a baby😊.
From Denmark i can say i have nothing but incredible Respect for Yoshida-san! To be able to keep going for this long on 3 hours of sleep while still having that look that says 'This person loves what he's doing' is truly admirable, Wish i could experience his restaurant in person.. I'm at a slight loss for words, amazing man!
That gentleman reminds me of my late maternal grandfather. He was the hardest working man I've ever known and had scars on his face, misshapen fingers from being broken and never set. Also missing the left index finger and his left leg was shorter than the other. You'd never know because he adjusted his shoe. Believe it or not he'd never tell you the why's or wherefore. Lived to 93 years old and still chopped wood every winter.❤

That's such an amazing story, thank you so much for sharing! Your grandfather and Mr Yoshida seem to be birds of the same feather!
I like how he lets the cooks/chefs speak for themselves, no interrupt presenter, no script, just the people and their work.

Very hard working, this warms my heart so much. He is very passionate and dedicated to his craft. He is diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, this can lead to cardiac arrest if he doesn’t take care of himself. I hope some money earned from this video will be shared with them to help promote and fund his restaurant. He seem to do most of the preparations himself, I hope he can get more assistance. I wish him good health and live life joyfully, to preserve and share his craft.

As much as I want to admire his dedication, I can’t help but feel bad with the reservation system they have which gives them with little to no day off. I hope it gets adjusted in a way that gives him time to recover especially with the condition he has. That said, I wish him and his wife all the best with their health- may you both live much longer.

Man, he works so hard. So moved to see someone doing this voluntarily due to his love for his customers. Unfortunately, you can see him struggle while bringing up those trays of food to his customers as well. Brings tears to my eyes how dedicated this man and his supportive wife to their crafts.

So amazing. The freshness & care that each dish receives is so delicate . Brings out the true beauty of the fish. You won’t find many 75 year old chefs climbing an orange tree to serve you that day. Such steady dedication to provide the very best. Thank you for sharing. 🌎

This is what excellence looks like. He exemplifies the saying that if you love what you do it does not feel like work. Huge respect to you and your wife sir.

His original mission is The Grave Keeper of the two Graves of The Holly person. The two graves were built in Nara eara, about 1,200 years ago. He is the 37 generation Grave Keeper, i.e. his family is destine to be The Grave Keeper, and first son becomes grave keeper. This island is holly island, dedicated to the two Graves, and no person is allowed to live except grave keeper. He made his mind to open fish restaurant to offer fresh fishes, while keeping Grave Keeper.

This is a man of great skills. He takes pride in his abilities, and his patrons must truly appreciate it. I have never visited a place to dine in such a remote setting. If I were to visit Japan, this would be my first stop. As a man whose favorite food is sashimi, this seems like sashimi heaven.
