Bread buns or bread rolls, it depends on where you live, but this is a lovely recipe. I have another recipe going to go up about making pizza, so keep an eye open for that. Well, we are still getting to grips with using our new microphone, so sorry that we lost a bit of sound in the middle of the video. As I did a summary at the end of what was done, I don't think that it detracts too much. If you would like to view the recipe and method please visit www.susiehunter.co.uk/susies-...
Method
Mix the yeast and water in a jug
Place the flour and sugar into the mixer, making a well in the middle
Pour the vegetable oil and half of the yeast mix into the well you created and start the mixer on a slow speed
Let it mix for a minute, then add the rest of the yeast mix to the bowl
After 30 seconds or so, add the salt and let it mix for 8 minutes.
Remove the dough from the mixer and place in a bowl and cover with clingfilm to double in size. The time that you leave it depends on how warm the room is
Remove from the bowl to a flowered board and give it a slight knead
Cut into roll/bun size pieces and place in the Ninja pans and leave it to stand for 45 minutes until the dough balls have grown and are meeting each other
Turn the Ninja on to a roast at 200 for 10 minutes and turn down to 180 for another 5-8 minutes
When you take the roll/buns out they will need to stand on a wire rack so that they don’t get soggy bottoms

Those rolls/buns look delicious. I’m a big fan of rolls, more than loaf breads. I’ve baked rolls and breads in my air fryer and worked well. I will try your recipe, thank you. Regards from across the pond in NJ.

I like your jumper. Your rolls look like they will be tasty, .nice fresh homemade rolls you can’t beat it. I pop mine in the oven for a few mins the next day, it brings them back to fresh cooked again. In the ninja you could do on reheat maybe. Be aware of hubbies they tend to want to try just to be sure they are ok before you eat them.. Hehe

Thank you Karen ! That jumper is an old favourite of mine , so comfortable it is made by Weird Fish , I have a few of there tops . You are right I did re hear two yesterday in the ninja on re heat for 3 mins and they were just as if they had been freshly made . Yes John thought he was very funny 😆 he said he could not resist it 😂😂😂 thanks for watching xx

Susie I’m new to the air fryer and have a ninja , can you tell me please why you use the roast function and not the bake function to cook the rolls?
@cookingwithsusie
@cookingwithsusie 6 ай бұрын
Truthfully you can use either , fan speeds are slightly different but not enough to make any difference, I have made them since the video and used bake mode , I think roast may have been a minute quicker but it made no difference really xxx

Hi Susie, we have tried your recipe twice now, we have the same machine and followed your directions to the letter, the inside of the rolls are good, but the upper crust is hard, what could we be doing wrong, Thanks,....... keep up the good work
@cookingwithsusie
@cookingwithsusie 9 ай бұрын
Oh Graham the upper crust is crusty and crunchy but that’s how we like it , I would maybe try covering them with foil so the top does not get so cooked , it is because all the heat comes from the top ! I will ask around some friend as some of them do make a softer roll ! I will see if anyone has a recipe for soft rolls xxx

Just spoke to a friend that makes a lot of bread and she said to take the temperature 10 to 15 degrees ! She said to have a look at a KZfaq Sight called Simple recipes kitchen that they have a few soft dinner roll recipes on there ! Might be worth a look , hope that helps xxx

Hi Cristina, as we cook our pizza in a hot oven and I missed the bake option. I cooked it for 10 minutes on a roast, but it is important whether you bake or roast that you adjust the time and temperature to how you think it’s going. I think that there’s a common thread that one side is hotter than the other, so you can’t rely on times. When I cooked scones I found that I had to turn them upside down as the bottom was soggy. Fortunately no such problem with the bread. Thanks for leaving a comment xxx

Just got an air fryer like yours so I’ve done the obvious thing and searched most of the web for tips and ideas. I’m a trained chef but not working as one nowadays … never used an air fryer before so it’s new Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for all your info and recipes … it really is much appreciated and gives me a great start on it all. Ps, my bread recipe is normally 65ml water to 100g flour then bring that up to a 70% hydration level using a bit of veg oil. A 450g tin loaf bakes at 185 for about half an hour in traditional I’m going to give the rolls a go using that mix when I get a moment this week. I’m assuming you didn’t bother with the bottom rack here ? Anyway, thanks again from sw france How cooked was the bottom of the rolls (I’m aware things sometimes benefit from a turn at times ?

Hi Mark , I still feel I am getting to know this little machine ! But I do love it . The bottom of the rolls were great , I tapped them like I did as a child making bread 😂 you are correct I took the crisper plate out of the draws and just sat the rolls on the pan floor . When I did scones I did have to turn those over as I felt the bottoms were too soft but that worked for them . I plan to try 70% hydration as we have a pizza oven as well so I am going to have a go at that . Hope you enjoy your air fryer and thanks for commenting.xx

@@cookingwithsusie cheers for that. Much appreciated. Pizzas … try the slow proving of dough in the fridge for minimum 24 hours using a lot less yeast than normal “live proving”. Makes a difference … have a look at ooni or Gozney sites for details and I personally use the same hydration as above with caputo 00 Instead of the now rare tomato :-) try a white base using ricotta with seasoning, a bit of grated Parmesan and let down with some olive oil. Works fine. All the best

We have an Ooni which we love and we use Caputo Blue 00 , we do 24 hour slow rise in the fridge , I make my own tomato sauce with home grown basil we have tried the white sauce which is good but we really love our tomatoes . We loved Olives on them 😂xx
