HAPPY HOLIDAYS, FRIENDS! I know, it's been a while but we thought we'd bring you a special holiday episode just in time for Christmas 2019.
3 year old chef is Susie's cooking up a storm in this Holiday/ Christmas Special. We're tasting new flavors and making old fashioned gingerbread cake (not the cookie variety) for a tasty holiday treat. Let Susie give you a quick lesson in, "What is molasses, anyway?" and learn what ground cloves taste like.
We borrowed the following Gingerbread Cake recipe from Once Upon a Chef:

The ingredients list is as follows:
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2/3 cup packed dark brown sugar
2/3 cup mild-flavored molasses
2/3 cup boiling water
1 large egg
As usual, please supervise your child in the kitchen, especially around sharp or hot items. This recipe uses boiling water, so assist your child and use your best judgement and common sense. HAPPY COOKING!
