Lucky to have such good friends! Am am really surprised that you didn’t know there were lowering links on the rear shocks. When I buy a used bike, I pull the bags, covers, etc. to thoroughly clean and inspect everything. I would have been like WTF! - seeing those links on the shocks.

Well that sucks...but look on the bright side, it broke before your Sturgis trip. If that would have broke in one of the many turns in the Black Hills, it could have been catastrophic!!! Have fun and stay safe on your Sturgis trip, wish I could go with you all.

Jack you are blessed with some great friends. It's fun to own a hog, but they can be a money pit. And a warning to any new subscribers, while it may be free it might cost you a cracked rib or a busted gut from laughing at some of Jack's content. Safe travels and hope the bolts have a great time in SD.

I did an “Auto tune” on my after market tuner and it totally s reward up my tune! My trike is at the Har.ley shop for a new tuner and a Dino run… ent it ready for Sturgis…

I hope Suspension tech will allow you to exchange for 13 inch shocks. 12 inch only gives you 2.25 inches of suspension travel. 13 inch would give you 3.25 inches of travel, and that makes a huge difference. When your bike is loaded with you on it, its going to sag an inch, and only have 1.25 inches of travel left, and those heavy duty springs are going to ride like a buckboard. I currently have Bitubo, Fox, Legends, and Pro Action shocks on several bikes, so I’ve been there and done that. I’m now running 13 inch, 13.5 inch, and 14 inch shocks, and they ride and handle like a dream.

Are you guys running straight north towards Sioux City then over? There’s an old historic highway 12 or highway 20 I think, called The Outlaw Trail, I believe you can get on around Sioux City or Yankton, that runs west just below the SD border, over thru Niobrara and Valentine, NE, then can start to turn north towards Rapid City. A whole different landscape!

I’ve heard a lot of good things about Suspension Technology I put a air ride system on my bike from Legends I actually don’t like it make the bike ride really ruff so I too am in the market for shocks so I’ll be curious how they work for you
