Leisa, I can only imagine how much time and effort goes into hosting Canuary. On top of all the other irons you have in the fire, you show up, get it done, and make it look easy. I cannot thank you enough for being a wonderful teacher, and giving us the courage to just do the things and to enjoy the process. I don't know if I would have ever gotten up the nerve to start pressure canning, had it not been for you. I hope you always know how appreciated you are, even on the most trying days.

I grew up in the 1970's and my parents pressure canned food. My husband learned from my parents. We didn't can anything from early 1980's until right around 2022 and NOW I'm all about canning it UP... Get it out of the freezer and onto the shelf. I saw Leisa Last year and heard about canuary but never watched and followed. THIS YEAR - My husband and I are both following and watching the videos and learning new skills and recipes. THANK YOU for teaching SAFE canning practices.

I remember making pot pies for my kids when they were young. I don’t remember my mom making them. I don’t know why she wouldn’t have. Maybe my dad didn’t like them. She could make wonderful pie crusts. So I don’t know why this wouldn’t have been something she would have made. Maybe she didn’t have it growing up. So as an adult I learned about pot pies, lol. That’s another way to get a meal together fast. I’m enjoying this after Canuary. Thanks again!

WOW! I can't believe you chose this. I've been trying to make a pot pie on and off for 10 years. I could never get the ratio of gravy correct. I copied what you did tonight and put up the rest of the jars. Drum roll please! For the first time in 10 years, I made a fantastic chicken pot pie! I will never have a problem with it again!! Woo Hoo! Thank you so much Leisa for this recipe and for putting the effort into this Canuary set of videos and giveaways. Although the prizes are great and thinking I have a chance to win something is fun, these videos have been a priceless source of information I can carry with me for the rest of my life.

Hard to believe an entire month of canning recipes is already over. Ugh - I'm going to go through withdrawal! Thank you for this recipe and all your suggestions (substituting meat choice, reducing meat, varying the vegetables to my preferences, using the chicken juice to add flavor, not eating par-cooked chicken, adding poultry seasoning into the jars, no metal utensils in the jars, adding slits to the pie crust because "exploding pie sucks" hahaha). You are so entertaining! :) I am wanting to start canning meat so I'm hopeful to win one of the two pressure canners that you and FORJARS are gifting. THANK YOU! Thanks to you and your great choices in collaborators for Canuary 2024, I have many new channels that I've subscribed to so the inspiration continues throughout the year. That will give me so many more choices to continue my canning learning journey. Thanks again Leisa to you and FORJARS for your generous gifts of time, your talent, and lovely gifts! I'm already looking forward to next year's Canuary.

Instead of a pie crus-I thicken up my canned chicken base (often throw in dried or frozen peas for extra color) in my cast iron and then throw some canned biscuits on top. My family loves it! Quick and easy. My bases always have onions, carrots, celery-sometimes green beans and potatoes. Truly “whatever” works.

I remember when store bought pot pies actually had meat and veggies in them and they were really tasty. That would be in the 1960s. Thursday evening was always store night and mom would shove pot pies in the oven, put groceries away and whip up a salad to go with them. Those were the days of mainly home cooked meals but an occasional convenience meal.😊

Canuary has been a wonderful inspiration to me. Thank you Leisa for coordinating this great collab. I will be canning this yummy looking recipe tomorrow. I am doing a freezer clean out and just happen to have chicken breast that needs a new home. I have watched so many canners since I’ve started and I never canned before. I’m the youngest of three sisters and the other two older ones did the cooking and I got to clean up. We never really did any canning my grandmother did, but we didn’t. all the other people that I watched were so meticulous with staying clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean and watching you can this chicken pot pie and some of the others things that you’ve done just thrills me to my soul. I am a messy cook, I have to clean up anyway so it doesn’t matter. However, when you were making the chicken pot pie and you were dribbling the broth and just everything, it wasn’t that you were sloppy, but you weren’t clean, clean, clean, clean either. I am thrilled to know that as long as it’s clean, going in the pot and clean, coming out and clean when you’re going to eat it, that’s all that matters, thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you. please keep on doing what you’re doing❤

I have to admit that with such an active life with my grandbabies,I missed tuning in every day.Tonight with the weather kind of nasty, didn't go to the basketball game and stayed home to binge watch the videos. THANK YOU soooo much Suttons Daze and all the other fantastic ladies for showing such great recipes and sharing good canning advice! Now with "buggy" eyes I am going to bed and will probably end up dreaming about canning!😂 Take care and God bless!

Potpie is life? I think it's so important to learn. Ingredient canning for the most part but also to have some ready-made meals. Last week we had some deep freeze in the south and lost our electricity for a few hours. This would have been a perfect way to open up a meal.

I have watched so many canners since I’ve started and I never canned before I’m the youngest of three sisters and the other two old did the cooking and I got to clean up. We never really did any canning my grandmother did, but we didn’t and all the other people that I watched were so meticulous with staying clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean and watching you can this chicken pot pie and some of the others that you’ve done just thrills me to my soul I am a messy cook, I have to clean up anyway so it doesn’t matter but when you were making the chicken pot pie and you were dribbling the broth and just everything you know it wasn’t that you were sloppy, but you weren’t clean, clean, clean, clean either. I am thrilled to know that as long as it’s clean, going in the pot and clean, coming out and clean when you’re going to eat it, that’s all that matters, thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you. please keep on doing what you’re doing❤

I have learned so many unique things throughout the month of Canuary and it gave me the confidence I need to move forward and just jump in and do it. I don’t own a pressure canner but I just got blessed with finding 24 jars at my local thrift store so I am itching to get SOMETHING canned and see how well I do at it. I feel the hardest part seems to be the actual canner itself with learning how to deal with all the elevation and pressures that will be the tricky part but it’s all a learning process….but with the help of you ladies on these Canuary videos and a GOOD book I am sure to learn to be great at it!! Thank you Lisa for creating this Canuary learning videos that is also entertaining and enjoyable for us all!!! God Bless You
