Move it up your arm a little where you should be wearing it and you won’t be pushing the buttons when bending your wrist.

It's always that price..idk why this guy got charged 240 bucks!! The highest I've ever seen the core was 149.99..if he paid 240 bucks he should of gotten the rangeman which is far superior..I have both..

Any idea what the width of the band/attachment point is 20mm, 22mm or 24mm?? Looking at adding a Nato Band to replace the Suunto Rubber.. thx

How accurate is the compass on the Suunto watches? I have a cheaper digital watch with the same feature and it is super inaccurate.

Reason for the dimness of the interface would be it is a military watch. When your out on patrol and have to practice light discipline you don't want your watch to be what gives away your position. In training you get smoked in combat you possibly die or get your buddies killed. The regular core version allows you to adjust back light. Just an FYI. Thanks for the vid.

+Joseph Vigil I agree with you completely, however I would still like the ability to change the brightness when stateside or not in combat.

Jay Flat Out you can change the brightness.....follow these instructions. NOTE* In order to change the contrast on your Core you will need to put it in sleep mode and this will erase all logs! 1. Press and hold the upper left, lower left, upper right and lower right buttons until 'SUUNTO' appears on the display. 2. When the display is blank press the upper left button once - 'SUUNTO' will appear on the screen 3. While 'SUUNTO' is still displayed press and hold the upper left button 4. Highlight the 'contrast' option then press the middle right button. 5. Change the contrast using the upper right and lower right buttons 6. Press the lower left then upper left buttons to exit

I have this watch but I haven't experienced the issue with the buttons accidentally changing the mode.

If you didn't wear the watch on your wrist knuckle that might help with the middle button being hit granted I have a rockwell iron rider 2 and it has the same issue but it looks really far forward on your wrist to me

I wear mine higher on my wrist and the back of my hand doesn’t touch the middle button, which is the one that protrudes that farthest. I have had some thick gloves contact and activate the middle button. Locking the buttons is a great feature.

Great review I really love the watch I haven't found anything as accurate I don't believe the display problem is actually software or the display the mineral glass face of the watch has a slight curve and a blue sheen to it similar to an optic lens I believe this is 90% of the problem if it was flat and Crystal clear there would be no problem but again this is just my opinion

@@MH-nu4ip I ordered it on Dec 9, 2018 from Amazon (US) for 129 USD. Because of snow storm on East Coast, it got delayed by 2 days, but I still got it yesterday. The watch is great! I already fiddled with all its settings, read its entire manual (pdf found online), and I have no complaints.

It even has an alarm for severe weather. It has a barometer mode that you can turn on. Which I did and love.

my Shuunto core compass died n watch beeb so many time, lucky under warranty, they have to send to Finland for repair. later it died at the Himalaya mountain. but come back to life after decent.

I just got mine from Ebay for $119 and it is in VERY good condition. Not very difficult to use. Just play around with it, long enough. You'll figure out most features. Still gotta figure out a few others.

You wear the watch on your carpals if you would wear it past your ulna you would not press the keys.

Guessing you were/are a military man, I was hoping for a no BS review of the more tactical features of the watch, such as a field use of the bearing lock in a white-out while back tracking, or going forward toward that hut you know is there, and showing how the watch would assist you. Could use that knowledge as a mountaineer!

Este reloj tiene un problema, sino le dà la luz artificial o natural fuerte en su pantalla nose logra visualizar bien los numeros en general, ni hablar de los simbolos mas pequeños, no se ven con claridad se pierden en la pantalla fondo negro, no esta bueno para nada. Responder

Watch is way too low on your wrist. Should be just above your wrist bone that is the little bump on your outside wrist.

To be honest I dont really understand the point of their design for a rotating bezel other than dive watches with moving bezels are trendy. If youre using it as a reference for land nav youre running straight degrees anyway so theres not much of a point in rotating it to go "oh 180 degrees is south" etc. Also the keylock to me seems to be a great feature cuz going through the field (or literally just doing push ups or bench) I keep pressing buttons on my watches but I definitely can see where youre coming from. Good review!

Military doesn't issue watches, they wear what they want. Probably as long as it's not Stainless Steel. :P

Keith Warden yes and no. This Suunto watch was issued to me back in 2008. However, the vast majority of military members are not issued a watch. It depends on your job and your unit.

I bought that thing and what a joke...sent It back so fast and put my G SHOCK back on..the watch is way to dim to even see no matter how you adjust it...even out side in sunny weather!? backlight is weak...band is cheap...battery life is nill...it's useless if you can't see it...if your interested and thinking about spending the 300$ they want for it.. don't...save you money for better things..get a Casio rangeman or a any tough solar model G SHOCK and you will be happy...I'd even wear the Timex expedition shock compass Watch for 50 $ before I'd waste the money on this turd...they should fire the dipshit who created this thing and beat him with a sock filled with broken suntos....it's that bad..id rather wear a hello Kitty Walmart digital...at least I could tell the time...I'd paint it o.d. green of course.

An awful watch, I'm sending my one back. The display is very very difficult to see, and my eyesight is perfect. I tried adjusting the contrast, but to no avail. Where's the 'Brightness' button?! A waste of money. Avoid at all costs.

Keith Warden It is a great watch.... till your mode button fails and it leaks in water, and the altimeter and compass are wildly inaccurate. Take care of your watch. I recommend leaving it in the box.
