We do a 5 day canoe trip every year, all primitive. Lots of fishing, eating, and libations! Love that river!

The spring with the wall is Suwannee Springs. I'm from that area originally and still have land there on the river. You paddled right past my place. The Florida Trail runs along the river with lots of places to camp, You just can't see them from a kayak .

5:05 - That's Swift Creek; the blue rope swing is a giveaway. Unfortunately it's not spring fed, the creek actually headwaters at the spoil lands of a massive phosphate plant up the way. If you paddle all the way to the Suwannee State Park past the Music Park, there are a couple really small spring leaches along the banks, but they're easy to miss and not worth writing home about. The Holt river camp is also just as good Woods Ferry in terms of glamping. Suwannee is a great paddle for just relaxing and having a big party, because it's so wide and obstruction free. If you want rural springs, you'll have to paddle the Chipola and Econfina. Look forward to more videos!

The "Holt river camp" is actually called Holton Creek River camp. One of the nicest river camps is Peacock Slough. If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend checking it out.

A friend and I did that same trip in July of 2017. But we did about three miles on Friday afternoon, and camped on a beach. Saturday night we camped at Woods Ferry. Definitely need to do that trip again.

I've been Kayaking several times and always wanted to get into it a bit more but never did. Looking forward to your future videos and hope you get into the difference between Kayaking and canoeing, techniques things to look out for and avoid.

Man, haven't done something like that since I was a kid. Looks like a great experience. Didn't look like there was alot of bugs. My last memory of paddling here in NJ was is of being eaten alive by green flies.

Hardly any bugs at all. A really nice time of the year to paddle. Probably more camping until the end of October though.

I've been planning on doing the Suwannee myself and enjoy watching how others handle it. Good video! What was the water level? Low enough for beaches I see.

Looked like a great trip! How's the weather been over there? We've had an unseasonably dry April in the Western FL panhandle this month, so many of our rivers are low and pretty clear. Great paddling right now.

They were still taking reservations at the time this video was taken. If the Sleeping Platforms were reserved and he took one, he would only be asked to leave when the people who reserved it showed up. They would notify a camp host and the host would call the office and a Ranger would have to go deal with the situation.

You said you went around the end of April. That's near the beginning of alligator mating season. Any encounters or concerns? Didn't seem to be an issue from the vid. Planning to take kids soon, so thought I'd ask. Used to the Santa Fe River which we have very few spottings on. Thanks!

I don't think we saw a gator this whole trip. I do see gators on the Santa Fe frequently and never have an issue.
