Being loopy about Bandits, pretty sure in my 30 odd years Kawasaki only, 1200 streetfighter Bandit S, sure that's a Bandit with plenty torque, very, very SPECIAL.

I'm a retired university professor in Davis, CA, with my own bone stock 1200, with which I keep up with traffic, too. It's like a magic carpet; so smooth and powerful, but I wish I had a motion damper on the forks -- it starts to demonstrate classic high-speed wobble above 100 or so. We have some great roads in the hills and mountains around here, not to mention the coast. May you enjoy many happy miles.

Thank you for exposing your true identity, Roger Littge. I will use that information to drive you away from KZfaq. No one deserves to hear Creationist propaganda in the 21st century.

They're standard Bandit hangers cut down and home made knuckle duster heel plates bolted on. Top and bottom yokes were from TES Engineering. They no longer exist, but Rich still does machining. Good luck with your build Duane.

Wobble over 100 is usually down to tyre wear or pressure. Mine goes right up to 145 ish without any problems. I like the sound of your roads!! Hope you enjoy many happy mile too.

beautiful bandit, I own a 99 bandit 1200 streetfighter as well. great machine takes me over 170mph with only a few mod. suck as changing the cams, using high performance valve kit, stage 3 jet kit, Yoshimura exhaust, k&n filters, boosting at over 127hp.

Hi Joe. I'm running a Stage1 with the rubber snorkel removed from the airbox and a K&N air filter. If you go to a Stage3 you need to run K&N dual pod filters and not 4 seperate ones as it will not run well at all. Whatever you decide to do, get it set up on a Dyno to get it running really well. Fiddling with jets etc yourself is a pain in the arse and you'll struggle to get it running to it's full potential. Have fun.

thanks a mill steve for sending me the link , super build , was up half the feckin night studying the 28 pages, you were very lucky in the smack with the poor corsa, when i have my own machine finished off il email you a few picsa, iam trying to work out a neat place to refit the ignation block , any ideas, wont fit in triangle piece under tank, tried at battery box , but too bulky ,

Not an easy job Duane! It took me a while to work out the wiring. Had to fit a sprocket cover and speedo sensor from a Mk2 B12 and then connect it all up. Also had to fit a Speedo Healer to calibrate the clocks as they were reading way out. I do have wiring diagrams, but if you're not that technically minded when it comes to wiring it's best left to someone that knows what they're doing or you could end up with lots of smoke and sparks lol ;)

Hi Joe. Thanks for the comments on my bike. To be honest I'm not sure whether the brace is from the carbed or injection model. I've compared photos of the 00-01 and 02-03 models and the swingarm brace looks the same on both??
@duanelewis40911 жыл бұрын
Was thinking it would be tricky ill let someone else do it when I get to that part.. anyways thanks again steve
@froudster12 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comments Joe. The smack with the Corsa was not nice at all :o( Look forward to seeing the pics of your bike when it's finished. Re the ignition switch..You're just goin to have a look arounf the bike and see if you can spot somewhere you think it will look ok and work around a fix. You'll proly have to extend the lom to get it to work though like I did..Good Luck!!

I used my original wheels and discs...I changed the bearings on the front one to suit the larger diameter GSXR spindle and got spacers made up to get it all centered. Calipers also spaced out to suit the b12 discs which are bigger than the GSXR items ;)

froudy pal jo here , sound out for the advice on the arm hope my mate does a tasty job on her. question for ya are you running a stage 1 or 3 dynojet kit as i notice you have done a few mods on the air box set up , can ya fill me in man as i know with the stage 3 set up cone filters are the way but in the lovely irish weather where you get 5 mins of sunshine if the filters get wet the 1200 engine runs like a bag of s.it. once again class machine froudy
@duanelewis40911 жыл бұрын
Well mate what sorta foot hangers are they building a bandit same colour and were you get your top and bottom yokes lovely bike want 1the same

froudy pal , joe here from ireland, question on the swingarm , have a cnc machine pal who is going to knock me up a similar arm for my own bandit 1200 was going to run a jmc which i have but love the look of your arm , is the brace from the 00, 01 carb model or 02,03 injection set up just there are big differences in the arms . p.s. if your ever thinking of letting her go do let me know , cheers man and once again sweet machine

I sprayed it all in one piece and then swapped the shiny bits over from my spare engine. To powdercoat it would have to be stripped completely..It would be expensive due to all the gaskets and seals needed to reassemble.
