Hey, Many will think why im comparing this bike to dominar and ktms, im just telling you all that at this price better options are available and about cbr 250 its already too old, so gixxer wins for me, and lastly the fazer 25, it has less power than this and also costs a lot less, so if power does not concern you, than you can go for it. Hope you like it.

28K EX-SHOWROOM difference isn't alot when we consider a quarter litre bike and people also have installments option. Yes it's slightly more but we are also getting better engine and looks with 6 speed gearbox. Being latest (2019) quarter litre bike priced 171K(ex-showroom Delhi) misses out Slipper Clutch it's quite disappointing.

There's no harm comparing however there is difference in naked and faired bikes. Both have different purposes in the real world. On paper we can discuss abt pricing, specs etc. But actually it depends on individual to individual preferences. You are doing good. All the best.

I have a Duke 200 2016 model as well. Done 40000 KMS so far which includes multiple 3000-5000 KMS trips as well as commutes twice a week. I have absolutely no problems with the engine. The only issue was the rear suspension giving up at 25k and the stator coil going at 18k. Nothing else apart from that. I take care to change the oil every 3.5k KMS and always keep the fluids leveled. Runs like a charm.

Seems little biased reviews. What feature competition gives that this bike missing? It got dual channel ABS, LED lighting, all digital Instrument cluster, 6 Speed gear box. RS200 cost 1.40L. for extra 34k you get dual channel ABS vs single channel,150 rear tyre vs 130 on RS200, better instrument cluster,better build quality,more power. Nobody calls RS overpriced. Instrument cluster gives all the information in one place and it's easy better than Duke250. Plus price difference is there. I mean CBR250R/Duke250 are nearly 25k more. Only real competitor is Dominar.

@@SuperImbadude obviously You are new to this biking world otherwise you wouldn't have commented this. Suzuki is one of the Big Four. If you don't know that, search on Google. Suzuki has a long history of making bulletproof engines in all kind of Motorcycling. KTM's were only dirt bike manufacturer until recently. That's the kind of ignorance KTM squid typical possess, so no blame to you. As far as brand image is concerned, KTM's reputation has been a hit and miss in Global market due to issues in Duke 390 models like blown heads, engine seizures,broken alloys etc while on the other hand, Suzuki enjoys a lot of confidence. And that confidence didn't build overnight. It took decades to build the reputation. Just because D390 costs $5300 that doens't make it a premium product. It cost less because Bajaj made that possible with their excellent scale of economy. Nobody in India heard of KTM before 2011,now suddenly everyone is proclaiming that KTM was their childhood dream bike 😁😁 Where Hayabusa was the bike that ignited superbike culture in India. Suzuki has presence in MotoGP, WSBK, DAKAR, Jet skies, Motorboat engines, Isle of man TT form as early as 1950's.

cbr 250r still retains the old charm. still in 2019. Its far better than rc and duke junkies.. those are expensive to buy and costly to maintain and all ktms are very prone to accedent. The closest compititor for this 250sf is cbr250r. Among which i believe is a personal choice between these two.. suzuki has done a decent job however the cbr has gained a certain standard on sports tourer catagory year after year and the honda badge is certainly not to be forget. the question is how it will stand up against the mighty cbr. lets see how this young fella competes..

A little vibration i see post 6k but that is because of suzuki's own engine oil ecstar... replace it with motul 300v or 7100 and it will become butter smooth. The only thing I don't like about the bike is the visor. Rest it has great road presence...8 out of 10 people notice your bike...(most eye catchy colour is the moto gp edition one, it looks hotter than any 200-250cc bikes out there)...high speed stability is really awesome! Promoting Duke 250? Most of the Indians would choose a bike which is comfortable both in the highways and cities. And how can you say that a naked bike will be better than a flaired one on the highways. You will surely have better stability and can cruise on higher speed (note: SF 250 needed a bigger visor). The only competition is Cbr 250r, which is better in my opinion because of DOHC the engine. In all other aspects SF 250 is as good as the Cbr 250r And Suzuki has a better brand value than KTM or Bajaj #hondafan

U gave a reasonable justification to some extent for the Gixxer 250 in comparison to other similar faired/naked commuter or performance/tourer bike by highlighting on important aspects like budget, comfort, city traffic performance based on INDIAN NEED N MINDSET (which Suzuki is willing to adapt well n figure out a fine tune for it) which I felt was missing in other grand reviews. So a good presentation at ur end in comparison to other videos which jus bragged about it like an endorser. I have an inclination towards this feaure packed bike especially if wondering under 2 lacs as its rightly placed between international brands of an air cooled performance bike (like fazer 250 n fz 25) n liquid cooled performance bike (cbr 250r) in terms of on-road price, though I own a ninja zx-6r..

Liquid cooling is gud for people who always go for long distance touring , not dat necessary for occasional tourers . But it increases weight & maintanence . Bigger disc , gud on paper but u won't find much of a difference in daily use . Come on mahn , think practical, rather than a spec worshipper . Going for a bike with lower or higher specs depends on the need and type of use of people . Not all people want liquid cooling & DOHC and not every people r gonna use it even if they have them . The only concern I have is smaller windscreen of dis bike . And hope u know , Honda increased the price of CBR 250R bike by almost 20-30k before few years all of a sudden without any mechanical changes being given . I have extensively ridden both the bikes and this is what I found. If you are the type who commutes regularly in cities and also limit your cruising speed to 100- 115 kmph on highways during long tours then Gixxer 250 is a better option than dominar as it has a much better mileage, it's lighter, handles better, glitch free and has more reliable engineering..but if your main idea is to do long tours with a constant cruise speed upwards of 120-125 kmph without mileage being an issue then the Dominar is a much better option..But then I doubt if most bikers cruise at speeds of over 115 kmph on Indian roads ( except the hardcore experienced guys maybe )..

Sad part is that the reviewers (long term in particular) never mention this issues. They compare performances, features and pricings, that's all. Based on these reviews, the impression what we get is that the Japanese brands are really overpriced because if you ignore those issues, everything's better in the other brands. Now put the price point in it and boom. Suzuki, yamaha, honda, kawasaki are the most reliable with very less issues and because they try to make it reliable, they put good quality parts which results in higher pricing. But to me, maybe they are costly but certainly not overpriced. There are a lot of things to be considered to judge the pricing, not just the performance or useless fancy features.

@@tanujdebbarma588 Don't live in myth..... The all sources of problems we face later on our bikes use to be hidden when we buy a new bike. Don't compare normal bike with super bike which use to come complete different way. We think Indian made brands are problematic. No it's not. All those mother f*** showroom guy use to fuck a bike in the name of test ride and connection of battery terminals. They rave fucking hard and no one even know about it. Wake-up and try to buy a bike directly when they're unloading the bike. What you think entry level bikes from Honda , Yamaha, Suzuki are all problem free? Nah ...i have used almost all of them. But the story of a super bike is completely different. Because it's a super bike. People use to think they're buying a brand new bike but who knows that bike might have fucked badly before they handle it to customer. This is not a story from a single company this happens in almost every company like Bajaj, KTM, TVs , and all those japanese bike you have mentioned. I witnessed this by myself.

@@emperorofdarkness3096 first of all let's not use those words. We all are humans. Same goes for the ones working at Japanese showrooms or the ones at bajaj or any other. Let's be mature. You give me facts and I'm ready to accept it. Yeah I've seen them doing staffs they are not supposed to do to a brand new machine. I'm a motorcycle fan. I've been knowing them all my life. What's myth about them? Talking about small engines, I used yamaha scooty myself with zero issues whatsoever. I've seen my friends suffering with their bikes every now and then with issues of oil leakage, rattling, vibrations what not. I rode pulsar 150, hero passion plus or something, we owned hero honda ct100, LML freedom 125, the honda engines are always smoother and trouble free. The others had vibrations. The pulsar's headlight was shaking like anything at 4000-5000 rpm. The hero passion left my hands tingling. I follow all the reviewers good or bad. Don't teach me about bikes. Most genuine people say that bajaj bikes are good only for around two years. TVS has good quality but lacks refinement so they vibrate. Do you think any manufacturer can offer great performance, great feature, great everything yet can keep the pricing lower than others without any compromise? My point is that every manufacturer compromises somewhere whether it's quality or performance or refinement or others. Japanese brands compromise little bit on performance and very less on quality as compared to the Europeans (comparing all the reviews). But they are reliable and I know it myself. Indian brands lack little bit of refinement and needs better quality. Europeans lack bit of refinement and reliability as compared to the Japanese (comparing the reviews of European channels, there is survey report of 2015 done in UK). The Europeans are the ones with less compromises, so their prices are very high. Japanese are in the middle. Indian brands compromise largely on quality parts to keep the cost down and sales high. Why do you think many prefer Bajaj dominar over TVS apache 310, I mean both are Indian bikes? It's the "value for money" thing, right? I'm comparing TVS apache 310 cause it was awarded the bike of the year by so many channels.
@tanujdebbarma588
@tanujdebbarma588 5 жыл бұрын
One more thing, if I'm complaining about Indian brands it doesn't mean that I don't like them. But I'm certainly not gonna say that they are the best, because they are not. Being cheap doesn't click the boxes for me. I believe in this strongly that if we ask for better, they will give us better. That's why I complain. And I'm ready to pay for it. If bajaj dominar would cost 2.5 lakhs with better quality and reliability, I would still say it's better. If Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda were all Indian brands with current quality, refinement and reliability I would proudly say that they are the best.

Don't tell people what to buy based on your own preferences. I know, with experience and research, that the Japanese machines are way reliable than any other machines in the world. They are cheaper than the Europeans and slightly costlier than the Indian brands. Definitely with the least issues. Change engine oil, top up the coolant (if liquid cooled), that's it. They are not as brutal (power delivery) as the European machines, they say it has no character and lacks few features, power in some as compared to the Indian brands (in case of similar pricing) and we say they are overpriced. But they are the most refined and reliable. The quality is very good if not the best (the Europeans are very good in quality, except the earlier versions of KTMs). That's why the Japanese machines are so popular worldwide. Vehicles with so many features are either costly (if they all are functional) or with so many functional issues over time which gives headache to the owners. Why KTMs had so many issues when they were "value for money" and now that the pricing has gone up, most of the issues are gone, it's certainly more reliable than before. The question is what kind of vehicle you want to keep and for what purpose and for how long. For short term it's better to go for cheaper and most fun machines. Use it and upgrade to something else. Long term and occasional usage would suit European bikes (if one can afford). Or go for the Japanese, not so heavy on the pocket but runs so long that even some get bored of it. I prefer the Japanese because I love my machine and want to keep it as long as it goes and I don't like handing it to the mechanics every now and then. Reliable, refined and less headache, that's the value for my money.

Is the KTM Duke 390 a good bike in terms of maintenance and reliability ?
@tanujdebbarma588
@tanujdebbarma588 5 жыл бұрын
@@prashasakpanda3754 well I don't have first hand experience on the matter because I don't own it. But according to many it has small issues. Popular KZfaqr Vikash Rachamala also said that. The new versions are said to be more refined and made of better quality parts. But it surely can't match the Japanese. It's the beauty of Japanese engineering. Their refinement largely adds up to reliability of the engines plus they never use below average parts. That's why their bikes or cars remain slightly costlier than our Indian brands. The Europeans focus on performance and fun factors plus design and quality. But they also need to keep the cost of production in check. However, their machines need even better quality to maintain the sort of performance they offer. That's where the problems start for them. To maintain more performance better quality parts are needed. The R15 uses die-cast aluminium cylinders plus excellent liquid cooling unit to keep the heat in control even if it was only 16 ps (now it's 19), this adds to the reliability of the engine. That's why after using it very roughly also its engine never fails. But one has to timely top up the coolant as recommended by the company. The KTM uses only nickel coating (silicon is common in the R15 and all KTM engines) which won't be effective enough to sustain its huge brutal performance and the radiator can't help it too. It can only be solved by using even better quality engine parts (compared to the current engine) which will shoot up the pricing very high or by bringing the performance down which will keep the heat low.

Btw, Vikash sir loves his duke very much. And the bike can be reliable. Because we are not gonna use it flat out. Maybe on somedays 70% of its power will be used, but on other days most unlikely. So the engine will not give headaches I guess. The biggest problem however is the "mechanics". I forgot to mention it in the earlier comments. They say that the mechanics don't have much knowledge on the higher capacity bikes in the bajaj, ktm service centres (not all). So they can mess up really bad.

Suzuki, Kawasaki and Yamaha are known for their refinement and shows the knowledge and potential of their manufacturers. More raw power can be extracted from a bike's engine but it would lead to vibrations , excessive heating and the bike would not be smooth. For a better ride quality vibrating machines wouldn't give you that much fun. Yes if you want a smoother and premium ride quality you have to pay for it. Can't do so much for our Indian mentality.
