this guy dont know what hes says, just look the way he ride the dayotna engine ¨under 9k rpm¨ underpowered all the time, the best riders and teams around the world knows that Daytona is a racing bike, have much better mid range than any 600 cc motorcycle, also brembo break system are the best "because is completely brembo system" and ohlins suspension are even better that gsxr600, but a great machine in a fool hand, you cant ask a good result.

All my mates ride different bikes, S1000RR, Panigale, ZX10R, Hayabusa, GSX750 on and on and on... me on my Daytona 675R and NOBODY ever talks about whos got the best bike etc... we just ride from dawn till dusk and have a brilliant day (occasionally swapping bikes enroute)

I'm going to start saving for a 675 soon, going from LATER reviews and magazines the Daytona has the best breaks and suspension of all the 600's, its also got constant power low to top end, which means it should out perform a gixxer in the mid range too.. idk going by reviews and shit i could be so off.. but triumphs the way to go for sure :)

They did a good job when a 600cc 4cyl beats a 675 3cyl on mid end and roll-on..!

The triumph has a way better torque curve from the time you hit the throttle all the way till you redline. It either increases or stays the same, it does not drop. I love mine and I had a k6 gsxr 1000 before this.

@SgtDamien yes your right, the GSXR has a better mid range, so thats why i personally think that the triumph is amazing if your constantly wanting to be at the track or "spirited riding" but the GSXR, for me would be better to live with... i mean its like nice and you can have a little cruse along and have power down low, but its still a machine :), and you cant forget about the GSXR 750 :)

@thekkl 1st mid range is not aspect of "speed", it is engine rev related. and the number of cylinders plays a part in this, if a v twin and a il4 make identical bhp but the twin has a lower rev ceiling, it means it makes it power sooner in the rev range, configuration also has an effect on torque which effects mid-range also, indeed models do change from year to year.... in some case the changes are paint and thats it, i guess that makes a bike preform better right?

On the race track, where both of these bikes are intended to be used, looks don't mean anything. The only thing that matters is being the first one to the finish line.

But still Triumph > Suzuki. It's one of those things you can't really measure, like driving a Aston Martin over a Nissan. The GTR might be able to get a faster lap time but there is something about driving a Aston Martin that is just different. (don't get me wrong Nissan is my favourite company) Aston = Triumph, Nissan = Suzuki

@SgtDamien ah fair enough, yeah i will admit the gsxr is a very popular bike, i know someone that has an r6 and he said its possibly the most comfertable to ride, its nice and collected but you poke it with a stick and it will go mental haha, but yeah, if your wanting a track day bike, i gues the daytona is the way to go, personally i think im gonna go with a gsxr 750, just coz i do some resnobly long distance but wanna have fun too, maybe if i have the money some up grades will come :P

Also, TheFryingPan16 wasn't comparing bikes to cars, he was comparing the feeling between a car and another car and the feeling between a bike and another bike. If you think all cars are "souless cages" I am guessing that you have never driven a 911 GT3, Ason Martin V12 Vantage or similar.... better than a bike? Of course not, but souless...? Not a chance!

people aways piss on about the Daytona having 75cc more dont forget its only a 3cyl. ducati has 78cc more they allow it race with 1000cc in WSBK. and by the way in the Australian supersports the Daytona is kickin arse.

@thekkl i spoke on the mid-range of the the two bikes which is a configuration characteristic of triples and the inconsistency of bike jurno's comments you're comment makes not sense in regards to the above, even more so when i asked you to explain, you turn to google to provide an answer for you

@aluisious This goes to show that they are not always biased toward the Triumphs. I ride a 955i but I sold Suzukis, I am not a track guy but would still take the 675 :)

Triumph usually has the best tires mounted as stock... That's probably where that extra second came from.

One thing they didn't mention is Suzuki's far superior reliability.

Suzuki has far more national and world championships to its name than Triumph. That is something you can actually measure and when it comes down to sportbikes it's the only thing that really matters. Comparing bikes and cars is like comparing apples and oranges. Cars are souless cages that provide little if any personal connection. Bikes are the exact opposite.

Style is all personal preference, I own a K9 600 and I LOVE the styling, when you take off the whale dick-looking exhaust and replace with something nicer (AKRAPOVIC FTW) and take the decals off save for the "GSXR" logo on the side it looks VERY sexy. That said I still think the best looking GSXRs are the old SRAD models.

@thekkl this is becoming tedious. as your original point bares no correlation to what i originally wrote 8! months ago, and everything following has been a digression from that. to but it simple... a triumph 675 at 4800 rpm, produces more torque than a GSX-R750 let alone a 600. as for model cycles, the zx-6 for example has remained unchanged since 2009, its paint options where cosmetic based, im yet to see a manufacturer add paint to its performance changes for a "updated" model

Put them on the exact same tires and the suzuki will not be far behind if not faster... Being the cheapest, there's prolly more than enough money left over for a set of supercorsas

Euro motorcycle plates are ridiculous. It looks like they have a serving plate stuck to the back of the bike.

National and World championships means nothing re road bikes. If you want proof, look at practically ALL reviews of the recent model R6; most say it's a compromised bike overall and an R6 hasn't won a group test for a long, long time.... it's won quite a few National and World championships though.

Stock brakes on the GSXr are 4 piston Brembos. So I guess they might be....

When is the last time you've seen Triumph win any race. They are comparing a cheater bike 675r that comes with $3,000 Ohlins suspension stock (Any idiot would tell you it would feel more planted and carry more corner speed) while the GSXR comes with a true stock suspension. Also the Tri has 12% more displacement. Its incomparable, just something for squids to argue about. The Triumph is a great bike but you can't compare them especially the 675r unless you gave the GSXR a full Ohlins setup.

Depends what you want though. I've had 3 R6s and they are awesome on the track but compomised on the road. If you are as capable as a pro racer, and you are going to use the bike to compete then watching an MCN review isn't going to help you bro - this isn't aimed at you! If you just want a good road bike, then race trim performance means jack shit. (agree, most journalists are pretty shit though)

a il4 600 has more midrange the a 675 triple..ok... i swear bike jurno's are the most inconsistent people on the planet, one year a bike is amazing and flawless, then a new bike comes out and all of a sudden the same flawless bike has a million things wrong with it

@oobeedoob Triumph are right up there with reliability now. I have owned a newish Suzuki and I watched it corrode in front of my eyes. Fantastic engine the rest of the bike is very poor.

I have a gsxr 750 I would have a 675 over the gsxr 600.....boring to look at zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz I think Suzuki need some help in the visual looks now adays. My next bike 675r no brainer.

@MrFlyahh K6 and K7?! You know, design is always an individual thing, but the K6 and K7 were the ugliest GSX-Rs ever build! The new Gixer is again a bike one can look at. Sorry, but that's the way I see it.

Oh dear, calm the poo down! I think you got the wrong impression, i dont just wonder around staring at number plates as a hobby lol. Yes i agree ours look better, and yours are a better size.... so make ours smaller and we will have the best plates in the world :)

Well maybe you should get someone else to ride the bike and maybe do some better suspension setup because most of the shoot outs between Triumph 675's and EVERYTHING else comes out with Triumph on top. So maybe you just don't know what the hell you are talking about.
