It’s good to see you back Jim, and offering sage advice that won’t see people injured by scalding themselves. Always a pleasure to watch someone who knows what they’re doing. Oh yeah, I think that called a parting line 👍

It's great to show everybody how much we have to struggle to get things done and how, there are always time consuming things we have to deal with such as broken bolts. Missed your vids buddy.

Can’t believe they have the same actuation rod set up that they had on a Suzuki GSX250 c1981 ,on the later model they did a crankcase mod so you could change the oil seal without splitting the engine !

Good to see you back posting, the tip about using a vehicles own engine heat is a good one, I've done that myself in the past, sometimes a day before I were due to start the work, just to make sure that exhaust nuts would turn a bit. That bike does look like a bit of a pig to work on,.....another reason why I prefer vehicles from the 80's now. Lol

Pros also swear. This is the proof. Has a gen 1 since 2007, has removed the cylinder and the clutch during the turbo conversion but never separated the crankcase. Good tip, had no idea about that seal and how it's supported.

Bought a gsxr 600 k3 a year and a half ago. Got it delivered to Scotland from England. Started going over the bike and fixing things that I wasnt happy with. Removed the sprocket cover to a expected glorious mess. Upon cleaning up I then realised oil was leaking past the clutch push rod seal. I decided to do it the cowboy way and grind the lip off and pull the seal and push in a new one. its still holding up.I do like to do things the proper way but the hassle involved to put in a new £6 seal was to much for me ha.

Sorry, but I'm going to have to correct you on this one. I watched another 'Professional' change their Hayabusa coolant a couple of months back and he said you should drain the coolant boiling hot. I do all my coolant changes this way now. My wife now wonders why our first aid box is always empty now....................... Hmmm. Glad to see you making Vids again.

I've done the seal in a way less professional Very much rigged way. It worked for me, But could very well not work for anyone else. Using a Drimmel with a carbide "Porting" bit. and just grind the Least possible amount of the engine case away until the seal can be pulled out and pressed in nicely. Then used some permatex to make sure it sealed from being pushed out. Yeah It's ghetto, And a horrible idea. But it was a whole lot easier than dropping the engine. Again, This is a Horrible idea, Don't do it. But it does "work", Just if it doesn't, You'll be buying a engine case lol.

all Suzuki's have this just split the case's and replace the seal , i would also replace the crank bearing 's while you are there just $100.00 more and maybe the shift forks to
@SuperbikeSurgeryTV
@SuperbikeSurgeryTV 3 жыл бұрын
You'd never replace shell bearings on an engine that's running perfectly. Complete waist of money. Selector forks only fail when there's a issue with the dogs so that would also be pointless.
