To each their own, but that just seems like a bad idea. I've had one fry and burn all the wires and char the mounting plate it was on, pretty sure it was on fire. No way in hell would I ever mount something that is prone to overheating and catching fire, inside of a plastic air intake box with a plastic zip tie on top of a tank full of gas.

On my yamaha R1 i put on under the back seat and use a computer fan to cool it down works like a charm

Man I've never been a fan of relocating in the air box for some reason I'm just thinking about going down the interstate at 80mph that thing catch fire and a gas tank laying on top of it? I've got a 07 gsxr600 and I relocated mine in front of radiator. I'm not saying it's wrong because a lot of people do it, but that concerns me a little.

Is that piece you put in the air box actually the rectifier? It looks like it is just a finned heat sink which is designed to attach to an electronic device such as a rectifier or similar product to disperse heat. If it is not mounted directly to the rectifier it is dissipating none of the heat generated by the rectifier. Not sure if that is exactly what it is or not. I cant get a great look at it in the video.

You just clearly said it gets hot why would you want your bike to suck in hotter air. the stock location is a better spot in case it catches fire
