Suzuki Kei Truck: Bed Liner!

How much raptor liner do we need to coat the Suzuki bed sidewalls and tailgates.
I use a Upol raptor liner with Pewter metallic paint added to it to make it nice and shiny.

That pewter color bed liner looks great! Thanks for the video! As soon as it warms up here and the spring rains are gone enough that I can get two consecutive dry days, I'll be "painting" my Hijet mini truck inside and out with two gallons of Medium Quartz Gray Monstaliner polyurethane bed liner. My Hijet has a little light surface rust in the bed, maybe a little worse than yours, so it'll get the same treatment - remove rust down to bare metal, solvent wipe, prime and bed liner. Doing the entire truck means a lot less fiddly masking. Monstaliner doesn't have any chopped rubber bits. All of the texture is the result of the application. It can be sprayed with a Schutz gun as you did with the Raptor bed liner, or it can be rolled. I'm rolling it! Never thought I'd paint a vehicle with a roller, but the results I've seen look as good as spraying, or maybe a bit better.

That sounds awesome. I think the raptor can be rolled on as well but I have a similar fear of rolling paint on a car! Lol. Lets see some pics when it's all done!

@@inkandpistons - Roger. Wilco. I've been taking pictures and video of the little Hijet maintenance, repairs and upgrades I've been doing on rare winter days that aren't cold, rainy or both. I haven't uploaded any Hijet videos yet but that's the plan. I'll definitely post a video of the Monstaliner "paint" job, and I'll include some low & slow fly by footage that shows the surface finish in detail. Thanks again for all of your kei truck videos. Good stuff! The soundtrack still reminds me of the Stargate SG-1 episode, The Light. The same eerie trance music was playing in the room with an alien device that's their version of an opium den.

Really enjoyed this video. Nice job with the bed. I think personally I probably would have removed the fold down panels and sprayed seperately but thats just personal preference. Either way though it looks awesome!

thanks so much, I was going to remove them and paint them separately but there were a few bolts in my way from pulling them off and I was running out of stable platforms to paint off of.. I may have missed a spot or two 😑

Have you thought about using the bed liner stuff on the hatches for the bed sides to protect them from rust and such?

Yeah I did think about it but I think I'm going to do a regular paint job on the soon.. So that should help protect it. There is a guy running around my area with one that's all coated the whole vehicle.. I think it's all blue and gold. Bedliner

Not really although they are a little tighter.. probably would have been smart to mask them off better. 🤔

Thanks.. slowly working on it . I have all the parts and for some of it built.. but I'm not crazy about how it was coming out so I wanted to start over again.. then got side tracked... With some other cars.. hopefully I'll get on it over the holidays

thanks.. i have no idea the CFM on my compressor. it was an old commercial monster from the 80s so probably a billion :) LOL raptor says 5-8 cfm i believe.. pressure is pretty low 30-80

@@inkandpistons gotcha. Don’t think my tiny pancake compressor would work. I’m thinking I may go with the raptor liner kit too. My brother just got his truck bed done and it was $800 to have someone do it. $200 seems like a good deal to me

@@packattack1762 well hell go buy a 200-400 compressor that will work and still be a few hundred under budget and own a bigger compressor! You can also apply it with a heavy nap roller and it lays out similar
