My OEM headlight bucket broke, so I got a cheap replacement. So far so good. www.amazon.com/dp/B0828J7C95?...

Yup! Gets the job done! I like it better than the old one. The mounting brackets are a bit sketchy though...lol

A FWIW ... Over the years I've developed a strong dislike (or worse) for plastics in many situations. Appears that your example is just another one. I hate leaking plastic fuel tanks. I hate stripped plastic gears in tools whether it's an electric drill or Whirly Pop popcorn maker. (Found a vintage one that has brass gears. A thing of beauty.) Yes, some plastics are worthwhile and better than any alternative. IV tubing and kitchen gloves are examples. I'd pay a reasonable premium for metal, when metal is needed for the best choice to get the job done. Off soapbox. Glad you found an economical solution to be street legal. In your circumstances, sounds like plastic is a good solution. Thanks for sharing.

Yup, plastic has it's place for sure, but definitely does not belong in some of the applications that require durability.

Happened the same to me 2 years ago, i used to make an X with black tape and hold it to the forks so it was “straight” just for that day, it was cool and i went so for months😂, i repaired it with double components glue and lasted for 7000km ~ today i’m 3d modeling a plate adapter from 2 bolts to 1 bolt. A friend gifted it to me but my model doesn’t have those fork holders. I will first print it in fdm, then resin, then my friend has also a cnc so i will make a final product in alu

What do you expect? It's made in China....?....or is it Japan?
@saltyshellback2 жыл бұрын
😄 The OEM light was made in Japan, the replacement was made in Jina.
