Well I had a 2008 SV650 naked bike and it has the preload adjustment. This fork is exactly like on the ones on that bike. Nice! 🤘🏻

I know the 2003 is a little different from the 2004. But are you telling me the 2004 SV650s would be different from 05-12? If so, any idea why?

Nice tip. Same issue on mtb forks as well, guess it has to do with the chamfered edge on sockets. Abbey Tools makes specific sockets that have a 90° edge which is supposed to be less prone to slipping on soft Aluminum caps.

2005-2012? The 2nd Gen SV's came out in 2003. Is there something different about the 2003-2004 models?

I have a suzuki gladius that has developed a slight clunk when I compress the front end, a friend thinks its the fork bushings are worn. 2009 suzuki gladius 36k miles on the clock

The only fork service an OEM damper-rod fork should receive, is a gutting of the damper rod, a quick and forceful flinging of the rod into a deep gorge where it will die a slow and rustful death, and a replacement with fully adjustable cartridges.

SV forks: some of the most basic, cheap, nasty hardware on the market. Only real solution is to install full adj. cartridges into them and run a fork brace between the forks.
