Ah the SV, the only bike (so far) that I regret selling. The review is on point. The bike never gave me any trouble, was proper fun in the city as well as b-roads after some modding. The only places where it didn't feel as good were long stretches of motorways (mine was also naked) or when riding with a pillion. Another thing to note, the fit and finish on the SV feels quite nice whereas MT07 feels plasticky and cheap in my opinion.

I had an 2008 SV650S as my first bike, and what an amazing experience it was. I thought your comment of being not sure about it being someone's first bike a good idea or not was really interesting. I only was able to put about 2000 miles on the bike, a fair bit of experience, but nothing to your 20k km. My cousin bought a 2018 ninja 300 for his first bike at the same time as me, so i was able to get a good comparison of getting a smaller bike or having this bigger bike. Personally i would have gotten bored with the 300 within one season. They are super fun, in the same way that beating your little cousin in 1 on 1 in baskeball is always fun. It just gets boring after a while. the SV650S on the other hand i found to be the perfect balance between the torque and the speed twitchy-ness. As a beginner the torque really keeps you in check while you gain skill and confidence to have fun with the speed. that was my favorite thing about the bike. With so much to learn and unlock, if you have winding smooth roads around you 10/10 would recommend. I recently just sold mine and was watching your video for nostalgia. Great vid

As for the fuel injection , swaping injectors for gladius ones helps Alot with fuel delivery, and skittish throttle.

Mooie bike hoor! Ik ga die van mij morgen ophalen SV650S uit 2012. Mijn eerst motor heb er zin in! Is een witte uitvoering met alle kappen en blauwe streep in het Midden van de bike. Ziet er super clean uit. Ik ben benieuwd! Maar geen brandstoflampje denk ik. Even kijken hoe ik dat moet gaan inschatten.

laatst een sv 650 gekocht op 35KW. moet mijn rijbewijs nog halen maar het kleine stukje wat ik heb gereden was zeer fijn. zit ook een dikke pijp op dus als je uit de toeren komt popt hij ook lekker ;)

4k was thinking about "only" 4k km's, but 4 years make so much more sense ;) Sad to see it go, but sometimes it is for the better.

Great review and picture quality! Planning to get SV650 gen2 2008 in a week or so. Bike is ideal was bought on 2k mileage and now has 7k. Seems like it was just stored for years, current owner rode ~5k and says there are no troubles with it. The only concern I have is a small amount of rust on the gas tank entrance, may be you know if it is normal or not?
