In New Zealand it's still got the K14c non hybrid engine. Not the quickest but still has very enjoyable driving dynamics. I20n has a stupid markup here and isn't significantly better in everyday driving. Would only make sense if you do track days. VW, mini etc all significantly more expensive to buy and maintain too. We're a long way from Europe. This is the car for people who are passionate about driving but don't want to spend big on a car. They are usually just a financial liability at the end of the day.

Another great review, very informative and interesting as always. One suggestion for future reviews is please don't wear Puma sweat pants, as your own "power bulge" is quite noticeable and cannot be unseen becoming a source of distraction throughout the walk around 🤣

Interesting review. I have a 1.0 turbo version with 110hp and its performance is quite spritely for its capacity . I think its upright windscreen improves visibility and gives a great driving position compared to rivals. Reliability should be much better than fiestas and vw rivals too.

Nice little car, love the manual gearbox and the looks. The small size and light weight are also good, don't care about hard plastics BUT performance and price are just underwhelming. It was already kind of slow for a small hot hatch and with this hybrid they made it slower and more expensive. I know why they threw the hybrid thing there. they did it to keep up with regulations and the replacement of simple gasoline cars but still. Lets not ignore also that this hybrid one will also be a bigger pain to maintain since it has more things to go wrong. If i see Suzuki offering a price cut at some point then i might look at it. But the current price just seems too much for it. It's suppose to be a cheap little sporty car but is just not really cheap anymore.

Nice review. Personally with the shortcoming mentioned. I don't care. This is a rocket pocket that wants to be driven and that's what is is built for. I have always like the swift but sadly we don't get Suzuki car here in Canada anymore. 😕

Thanks for a very down to earth review. I own the non hybrid version, so very interested in your video. Regarding economy I average around 49 mpg. I've done just under 7000 enjoyable, trouble free miles, typically Suzuki. The car seems notacably quicker than Suzuki's figures and I suspect that the hybrid model will be the same. Being in my 60s I appreciate how comfy the car is, one reason that I didn't go for a Fiesta ST. As regards the hard plastics that doesn't bother me one jot, don't know why its such an issue. Anyway thanks for your review and I look forward to trying one 🙂👍

I see What Car rates the 2017-2024 Swift as the most reliable used small Car (June 2024). Given a 99.5% reliability rating.

wow, a very wet review, how do you keep the camera dry? I'm scared about getting mine wet. The first car I drove on the road was a 2000 Swift 1.2. It was fun to drive. It's good to see how this car has improved over the years. I agree about the about what you look for in a swift, you do expect a fun drive over a solid interior. A old school kinda feel. The wheels in slowmo really made my eyes funny, lol

Suzuki is a very nice car But it had left in my country for years

with 58,7 mpg in the city my swift sport none-hybrid is economic enough for everyday use. I don't think the hybrid was a large improvement. 👀

You can skip the 2nd gear when doing 0-100 sprint….
