It's a perfect all-rounder. Good road, bad road, sad roads, no-roads, the thing simply shines. With a genuine top whack of 145+ GPS and speedo indicated 155 and that brilliant oil cooled motor that is extremely happy at triple digits all day long. As you've rightly put, 120 and 130 and that motor sings all the way, all day.

Aus battler I am also in Aus ,can you please tell me what the engine RPM is at. 100kmh I ask because I had a Suzuki gsx 250 road bike about 40 years ago and it be doing 6500 RPM at 100 kmh which I thought was rather high and nearly red lining at 125 kmh , Is the V Strom 250 a bit more relaxed than this?
@andrewroberthook33105 ай бұрын
I rode a 23 250vstrom on a ten thousand km trip across Australia and back Two weeks on the road with a week relaxing in between I gave it plenty and it didn't miss a beat It handles well and does keep up with bigger machines on the windy roads I've put 17500 km on it in 3 months since I brought it I've had it up to 150 but I suspect the accurate speed is 140 It's not a Motorcross bike It's comfortable You won't take a Motorcross bike 10000 km in two weeks without destroying your ass and being semi crippled The motor wants to rev and loves it as do I My recommendation put bar risers on it and buy it How could you not

Great input. I’m sure no one else can give it better or more thorough kudos than yourself. I’m also in Australia and I have been very intrigued by this bike. May I ask aside from the bar raises was there any thing that stood out that wasn’t good about it? How the vibration above 110km/h?
@andrewroberthook33104 ай бұрын
@@florme6494 vibration is not a problem at any speed on this bike I brought a palm rest for the throttle so my hand did not get fatigued

I wish it was a 300 with slightly longer suspension. Suzuki made this a 250 because of tax penalties for bikes above 250cc in many Asian countries. A bigger engine would make cruising at 120 kph much more relaxed and have extra torque for riding two-up or loading up luggage for a longer trip. The bike needs bar raisers, it's cramped for taller riders and difficult to ride standing. But still great value from Suzuki👍.
@frankseymour41625 ай бұрын
Hi. I have owned one of these for three months and done 3,500kms. It does the speed limit here in Australia and sits on the 100kph for hours and did 450kms in a day. Off road is only for dirt roads so suspension travel has been fine. I must totally agree with you about handlebar height and being really difficult to stand up. I am 66 years old and really love this bike.

When people will understand that fun is not conditioned by engine capacity, they will enjoy motorcycles with small engines more. The V-Strom 250 is a super cool 🏍 that puts a smile on your face, and most importantly, brings you home every time 😉 Best regards from Romania !🤘

Agree with the age thing. For cars, an 18 yr old could legally pass his driver's license on their 18th birthday and the same day, take a Bugatti Veyron out on the motorway.... Yet for bikes, limits are purely based on engine size - so a 150cc or 250cc with LESS power than a 2-stroke 125cc is illegal. it doesn't make sense. My other half is now starting to ride bikes and she is 40, but limited to a 125cc for 2 years here in Europe. Then she'll have to have more'lessons' and also retake her license test all over again on a 250cc- 500cc, in some cases they only offer slightly more power vs weight.... It's utterly crazy, and VERY expensive!

His reveiw is so funny in places! Yes, I have completed 5000 km on my sx250. 140 kph is 10,000 rpm (red line). 150+ is 11,000 rpm - over the red line. It is a good cruiser! So economic you have to remember to top up for fuel! It has that ESSENTIAL thing about riding gravel rides, riding off road - LIGHTNESS!
