The Vitara is a subcompact crossover manufactured by Suzuki. In the Philippine market, it competes with the likes of the Hyundai Kona, Kia Seltos and Nissan Juke, to name a few. Suzuki is an underrated brand in the Phils. We have tons of them ( Swift, Escudo, Jimny ) running around Tokyo. Value for Money cars. good review.

Suzuki is trying to market this against the Subaru XV right? The presence of hard plastics does not help it's cause. How does the new version compare to the previous generation when it comes to the interior? Great review as always. Been waiting for this car review. Thank You Sir Wess

Suzuki Vitara Allgrip has good-very good reviews in Europe, but not in Philippines. Europe, especially Germany, is very strict with TÜV and many other standards. I think the car here is so underrated due to the wrong strategy of Suzuki Philippines.The first upgrade Vitara 2WD was launched very cheap and suddenly a price increase of 400k with almost same looking car, just with "Allgrip" on the back. Maruti Suzuki India is famous for lower Quality, cheap cars and markets lots of cars under the brand Suzuki in Philippines as budget cars. German car manufacturers so far let their cars be assembled or manufactured in Hungary, China or USA, but not in India because of different focus. AWD like Vitara Alllgrip is often misunderstood to be used Off-road or on snow conditions (which tested very good in Europe), but actually a safety feature as an example if the street after a sharp curve is slippery. Suzuki has a lot of experience in small 4WD cars and engines under 2L. To compare Vitara Allgrip with Geely coolray, Ford Territory and similar is like comparing Apple with Pear. Should compare with Subaru Forester, Geely Azkarra and similar cars. That sophisticated awd is useless if the engine is mediocre. Their lineup lacks a proper top of the line suv/crossover that can compete with good power figures.

NOT ONLY ABOUT POWER. Audi Quattro has 50 more horse power, but lost against Vitara Allgrip, so Toyota Yaris AWD. By the way, I'm German and living not far from Ingolstadt (Audi Factory) if I'm in Germany. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gsCapsxnqMmxl4E.html
