She started out playing for tips, taking any type of gig. She can play with a band or without, to 5 people or 5,000. She's old school and so pure, and she can yodel so sweet.

And Ian Tyson sang it before Judy Collins-'cause he wrote it. Ian just passed away. IMO Suzy's cover it the best of all including Judy's. She is one of the best all time country music singers. Not sure she's gotten the recognition she deserves.

Suzy is such a sweetheart. I met her at my home county fair back when this song was a big hit for her. Though Suzy was a huge star, she was just like talking to a regular person you'd meet on the street. So personable and kind. And she still sings the song just like she did when she recorded it-perfectly! I actually later heard Judy Collins sing the song live. Judy was greast singing the song, but Susy absolutely killed it.

Did you know that Ian Tyson wrote this song and it was released on Ian and Sylvia's in 1964 album Northern Journey? Yup in 1964!
