I hate to complain about work because I'm so thankful we both still have jobs, but it sure makes it difficult to find the time to work on the boat. We finished wiring the windlass and you'll see an abbreviated version of how we did that in the video. We've done a lot of electrical wiring videos so we didn't want to rehash that all over again. We also got the windlass remote wired and, after some fiddling about, it works.

That was quick. It only took you about 25 min. over 3 episodes. If every job was that easy everyone would own a boat. All of you work really is top notch. 😜😜👍👍

The miracle of video edits. 5-months of work compressed into a half-hour. Thanks for tuning in Clay.

Hi my friend thank you for your video. Please I need a crucial info. What Is the capacity of your 3 yellow wires between the windlass and the relay. 35 mm2 or 50 mm2 or .... Thank you in advance for your answer. JP

Wow, great install. I’m waiting for my Tigres to arrive, any day now. Tried to research, Lofrans seemed to recommend 100a breaker. I’m using 4/0 cable. Didn’t you go with 150? Would be curious of your thoughts. Thanks, Rich!

Hi Chris - I used a 150 amp breaker and 2AWG from the breaker to the relay. I used 4AWG from the relay to the motor. 2AWG would not fit inside the case. The most we've seen is about 80 amps when pulling up the chain.

Hi Rich- So, did you place a SLA battery in the bow or do you run the windless from the BB LIFO's?

Hey Ken, I ran the windlass cable from the 150a breaker at the main house bank (we only have 1 bank) all the way forward to the switching relay in the chain locker. About 50 feet round trip of marine grade 2 AWG cable sized for the breaker. Actual draw under normal anchor retrieval procedures is about 95 amps, so well oversized for potential future problems if needed. Also, the anchor washdown and the remote windlass control also power off this 150a circuit. Thanks for watching and commenting, hit me anytime.

@@svrambleon I thought that was what you did but had to ask...Thx dude. I got side tracked on the installation of my windless ( same model as yours) and will be tackling it this winter. Love the content brother! You two have an excellent channel.

What size chain are you using? We are about to get that same windlass. Could you email me a better wiring diagram or just a pic with alterations lol

We loaded up on 275' of 5/16" G43 Acco anchor chain. I installed the windlass using the factory wiring diagram but the terminals in the motor case weren't labeled. All I had to do was swap the two positive wires and it worked perfectly.

long time since this was listed, but...looks like the solenoid was installed upside down for water tightness...just being annoyingly pedantic
