The good, bad, and ugly installing lowering springs on your s550 Mustang. SVE 5300C Lowering Springs from LMR. Tough but rewarding install.

Excellent video, I even like you pointing out your small mistake at 18:02! Have to remember that. Could you have used the spring compressors on the rear springs to get them out easier?

Another thing I wanted to add if you're gonna do some more of these: part of what gets in the way in the rear is the exhaust. You really have two options here, you can remove the exhaust or compress the spring using a normal coil spring compressor.

if you loosen the cradle bolts on the otpposing side a few turns it will give you a tremendous amount of free lateral movement to get the springs out. You should have the car realigned after spring install anyway, so no harm if doing that. If you would like to be sure to properly center the rear cradle every time you need to work on it, both BMR and Steeda make alignment bushings that work great. Those, especially combined with a cradle lockout or cradle brace, will realign the rear cradle in the exact same spot every time you remove it.

When i removed my rear springs iran into the same problem of not being able to lowe5 the suspension enough but i came up with a solution thst worked for me. I put some rags on the rotor and got a large pipe wrench to push the suspension down enough to remove springs

Also I had to use a air hammer to get those strut bolts out for the front. Manually hammering it wasn't budging.

in theory couldnt i use a strutless spring compressor for the rear springs and just pull em out and not drop the subframe?

I had to use a giant crowbar to get the rear stock springs out.

In the future I'm installing steeda progressive and the bmr cradle lockout 2 on my 2020 gt pp1. Im going to take it to my neighbor as he has a lift and he's a ASE certified mechanic. I don't want to do this by myself on jack stands. Did you torque anything to spec? I printed out a s550 torque specs page off the internet.

Hey, were Jounce bumpers shorter than the OEM's?...Meaning, were the new bumpers already properly sized for a 1" drop? And how is the ride, compared to stock?

Does this degrade the shock absorbers more quickly? It’s only a 1.5 inch drop but still… the tolerances are pretty tight from factory so I was wondering if its done harm on your setup yet?

Did you clock the bushings after install?.. I installed my SVE springs and went over everything three times and I have had a slight clunk from both sides of the front. It’s very annoying. Only thing I can think to do is clock the bushings, cuz everything else is correct.

Make sure your Strut tower top bolts are fully tightened. Its an easy thing to check. That seems to be a common problem when installing lowering springs.

Did you have any pop sounds out of the front. I did everything but I still have click/clack sound but it's very subtle.
