Been having a lot of success with swain top recently so I just wanted to share it. Been farming solo kills almost every game and my main account is now at 528LP 65% win rate. I will get back to Challenger!

Swain was my main in S7, managed to get to gold with him and a couple more champions, watching Quas videos and stuff. After the little last rework I've been playing him a bit (I've skipped couple seasons) and you are doing a fantastic work with those explanatory videos!

Watching this now, thank you so much! As I spend more time playing him top, I realize that I was being unproductively aggressive early game and way over extending, the slow and steady chip damage really does make things super easy and lane. Really enjoying this build and I think I'm ready to take it into ranked after a very long time of not touching him top in ranked. Thank you for reinspiring me to play my favorite champion in the role I play the most

This is the first time I've seen how to apply pressure in the map when playing top lane. Push wave out, roam, and make it back to catch the wave. Rinse and repeat. Loved that!

Thats the gist of it but what you described works better in midlane. Usually in toplane you wont have time to catch the wave unless you destroy their tower.

Hi!, First of all amazing content and congratulations on the growth of the channel and the upgrades in upload quality. I have been playing swain for few weeks on toplane quickly climbing from platinum to diamond in great part thanks to your advices. I however felt the tank build worked a lot better with tear- jaksho-CDR boots as my first 3 items. Is this something you have tried? or maybe just insane? When going for that build I have been going conquerors on lanes where I can´t poke a lot

glad to hear man keep it up :D Havent tried it but never been a fan or tear on swain, also conquere offers much less laning power so i dont really like it. Id rather go super server build when going for "tank".

@@HusumLOL To be honest , tear has felt like the weakest part. However i have not found anyway to solve the manaissues while going for jaksho, and the stats it gives feel so much better than ROA generally

@@mordeka1ser710 if you are going jaksho build you can just buy the component to or just go frozen heart first I do it into irelia lane since its already unplayable tear is ok but I think its a waste of gold since dorans ring gives a bunch of mana and potm with conq setup (my favorate with jaksho) gives a bunch of mana too when trading

Great video man! I wanted to ask you how hard is it gonna be for me to one trick swain mid? I am D1 and everything is going great but I realize swain is legit the only champ I play and I understand it cripples the shit out of me so I hope it does not suck to main just one champ master tier and above, do you think I should learn any other champs?

I suggest you have 1 other champ. So like play swain and 1 other champion. this will greatly increase your view on the game since you dont see everything from the lens of swain. I got grandmaster without ever playing swain, so i have broad understanding on game from that (played viktor/orianna)

Liandrys Rylais and roa cosmic have pretty much the exact same winrate. So I'm sure it comes down to enemy team comp. Obv liandrys vs tanks, but I also think its better vs any heavy melee comp for the kiting. but im not sure if slow or speed is better vs a ranged heavy team. You dont seem to adjust your build to the enemy team, is it something you think about? Second question: It seems E lvl one instead of Q has a solid 1% higher winrate in plat+ over 56k games, maybe E start is better for ranged matchups at least or what do you think? p.s. I agree about the build not making a huge difference, I just fucking love optimizing

i also factor enemy team into it if its not a clear roa/liandry. But i believe my own comp is more important. I think q start is very underrated and i think theres are difference because q start is only insanely good with aery scorch and not all swain players play with that.

Eh, "broken" is a massive overstatement. It's not bad, but there are a million matchups where the enemy champ can just run you down and there's nothing you can do.

i personally only play it secondary because my best role is midlane and thats what i enjoy the most. Wouldent replace mid tho

Camille is not super weak in early laning phase, she is pretty strong 1-5 then falls off from 6 until she gets her trinity/divine

hmm.. i dont know much about swain support tbh. But bush control is really important. You need to be aggresive as swain support. But picking him up in solo lanes isnt as scary as you think! Binge some of my videos and jump into some normal games first. He is actually really fun in solo lanes imo :D

ranged top os pretty bad but quinn and akshan are permanently in top 5 winrates top lane because of their cc and eacape tools and insane damage. they should be fixed or reworked

best laning rune. high elo = laning phase important.

You didn't answer me like I wanted I suppose, and saying ''high elo = laning phase important'' is just making question flat. By comparing every rune out there, aery looks way worse in every scenario number wise, even though the damage number dealt by aery might be slighlty higher than anything else, other runes give different effect, for example grasp might've been better in both scenarios. @@HusumLOL

im not sure what you want me to tell you. I pick aery because it gives me most power in laning phase and im a really aggressive player. Electrocute is very bad on swain and grasp could be playable vs tanks top. but its about preference also why i take aery. just pick what you want man @@GRIFFINPOLSKA and aery dosent look worst number wise btw, it outdamages conq and electro easily.

Idk, Swain is just weaker Vladimir tbh. Q - same dmg, but vlad heals and stacked Vlad Q more dmg W - invurnability, slow + still can do dmg > small dmg and reveal E - AOV dmg, can cast in W > dogable low dmg pull R - Vlad has bigger burst altogether when using R, in lower period of time

How do you have 4500 health in game 2???? If I'm not wrong then it would seem like you must be getting almost 1500 bonus hp from your passive!?!?! Is this really the case?!?!?

But how you deal agaisnt irelia/jayce/olaf match ups, those are fucking terrible, olaf i tried phase rush to not be a caster minion and after around 3 itens i could win him on a 1x1 by resseting his ultimate with zhonias

Wave control is key. if you let enemy pull a freeze its gonna be insanely hard because long lane. But anyways if you just go even you can pop off in fights anyways :P

Riot's completely fine with shit like Ori and Syndra running the game, K'Sante being nigh unkillable while also solo'ing your carries, ADC's being more slippery than assassins, but god forbid Naafiri do a LITTLE too much damage, better bonk her on the head with the 3rd or 4th nerf in a row since her release.

What got my noob ass to diamond is playing top tank swain. Forget about throwing out qs willy-nilly: stack as much hp as u can in lane with e+w, get jaksho 2nd and ape shit face roll everyone until you win. Low mana but you are literally unkillable even 4v1, add zhonya 3rd and you can do pretty much whatever the fuck you want (any one a fan of war crimes?). Granted, not very playable into gwen or other high mobility top laners- getting stacks is very important. But should you go even in lane you are 10x the usefulness of the enemy top laner

This is worse than watching vayne top. I was forced to play this as urgot while trying him out and faced this type of cringe playstyle but still carried the game because they let me push i honestly hate this playstyle so much range and power its just unfair to toplaners if you play this its just a ranged toplaner like teemo but a lot of healing if not worse

9:40 u trolling by not diving her. Even if u die(it was unlikely) its extra worth cause she lose cannon wave and her wave slow push towards you.

100% but in that moment im not sure where jungle is and i only have mana for 1 q and ult. She can dodge one of them with her ult, so its a pretty risky dive. Even if i dont dive its still a win.
