Stone Would hey there! Yes you can adjust the directions of the floodlight and camera. The lights have got a rotating arm and a 90 bend so its got good range and the camera is on a ball mount so it’s quite flexible in direction I hope this helps you! Cheers

Great review, Can this device be used for continous recording? or does it only reord when triggered? What is the recording duration?

John S hey there! I will check tomorrow for you but to my knowledge when it shoots in coloured night vision the infrared lights go off Cheers

Hey mate, My apologies for not getting back to you earlier. I don't usually reply this late, but i had a little to much work to do this week. Nevertheless, i had a look and interestingly if the camera is on but the lights are not it will use the IR that is the red lights and thus they are visible. But if the Lights are on i think the systems detects no need for infrared and thus turns them off. so it is dependent on whether the lights are on during night vision. I hope this helps you!

The modes are a nice option, but does the app give you the ability to automate mode changes according to times? For example, could you set night mode to automatically enable at 9pm and then switch to home mode at 7am every day? Without that sort of automation, I feel that having to switch modes every single evening to put it into night mode would be tedious. And is there a way to set the siren to be triggered for night mode only?

Hello Michael! I think you are absolutely right and unfortunately these time based triggers do no exist.These modes are a relatively new feature, i think when i did this video it had only been implemented for a couple of weeks. I personally leave my cameras continuously in night mode so they are always armed. I prefer to get notified of every movement around the house rather then relying on myself to change the modes, because i know that i will eventually forget to do it because of the tedious nature. Hopefully they will implement this in the future! Hope this helps you!

Hello. Is it possible to turn the light completely off in any of the modes? Id like to be able to sit outside at nighttime without the light going off every time it detects motion. Cheers

Do you mean that you want the camera to detect motion while the light remains off? Or do you mean no detection and no light?

LAX id like it to be able to detect motion while the light is off. So we can sit outside with out the light going off every time we move

@@ianmitch1989 hey mate U fortunely I don't think this can be done. You can turn the light to be continuously on, and in the day time there is a daylight sensor but having checked yesterday I am wondering if it would be better to turn the light off for that period of time? And then turn turn it back on after you leave. Hope this helps you though. Cheers

Jus got mine but the True detect doesn't seem to really work. I can be right under it and it wont trigger so im forced to use the motion detect.

That doesn't sound right, I have mine on motion detect but ill try and get further information for you, I'm geussing when you say you had it on true detect you did this in the settings, so I'm wondering if there are some sensitivity settings. So I'll check and find out 👍😊

That is quite odd, I checked my settings and I noticed I am using motion, maybe thats why I didn't notice this issue before, ill try and do some research for you and see if I can help. I have an exam upcoming so I might take a few days 😅 but maybe there are some sensitivity settings that can changed?

@@Lakish_Narayan cool TY.... I'll be trying too. I noticed in the instructions it does say it will not trigger unless you walk across it and not up to it at any angle so ill give that a try n see what happens.

How does the recording work onto the cloud or something else?

Hey there Swann has their own cloud system so it backs up onto their automatically assuming you are connected to the internet or using the internal memory, but I think you can get additional storage to extend the number of days of storage. I hope this helps you Cheers

About how far is the motion detection range?

I get pretty consistent detection around the fence line so I think that is about 10. I think it is a little more though.

On the app i believe so, I think swann offers a subscription package for longer periods of recording time.

I have been trying this outdoor unit for 2 days now...simple answer...not impressed...it does not work as advertised...Snow storm going on right now and it is triggering motion every minute at lowest detect level..I have it pointed down as much as it will go.I have been fighting this detection system every since i got it.I am at the point of giving up and returning it to the store.

Hey there That is unfortunate, I'm guessing that the the snow is passing very close to the unit and causing all sorts of motion errors. I'm wondering if putting some sort of covering to give some clearance between the sensor and the snow would help, like a rain shield that deflects the snow... The other thing you could do is set it on home mode, this would stop the notifications but would also disable the motion detection. But if these ideas are not suitable it might just be better to return it and get your money rather than dealing with the hassle. But if you are keen to keep it you could always contact swann , they might be able to offer some sort of solution. Let me know how it goes! I hope this helps you! Cheers
