I am a Bengali living abroad but Kerala is my second home. I had been to all parts of Kerala and also to Laccadives. My friend lived in Eduthua and I used to go and stay in his house until he passed away last here. I still visit Kerala from time to time.

Tui thik bolechis. Tagore's 2200 lyrics are heart of neo-classical Bengali culture. Bangla is a language of 300 million people, fifth largest language and bigger than Tamil, Kannada, Telegu and Malaylam combined. I had two Keralite girlfriends --they were both crazy for Rabindrasangeet.

স্বতিকাও ভালো অভিনেত্রী ও মেরুদণ্ড সোজা রাখা নায়িকা। গান ও খুবই ভালো গায়। সাগর সেনের ঘরোয়ানায় শেখা তার গান। বাবা সন্তু মুখার্জীও ভালো অভিনেতা ও গায়ক ছিলেন। স্থী র মৃত্যু তাঁকে দারুন আঘাত দেয়। তাই ; সারাজীবন একমাত্র মেয়েকে নিয়ে ই কাটিয়ে, চলে গেলেন " না ফেরার দেশে"। মনটা খুবই খারাপ লাগে।

Never forget to remember the great Maestro Robi Thakur. All of you that hear is his soulful gift and undoubtedly his words make him a Mahapurusha. He was remarkably ahead of his times to combine past western literature connotations with future stigmas. In my opinion he is and would be a way of life for Bengalis. My deepest respect to Robi Thakur for this enlightment.

Have been listening to this song like a loop. I have heard many other renditions of this song, but there's a kind of magic in Swastika's voice. Her untrained, self-styled voice reaches the core of our soul. You play the song again and again just tk hear her say, "ei akashe amar mukti aloy aloy."

That Swastika is such a nice singer, so specially equipped with Rabindrasangeet, was unfortunately unknown to me. I tried this song sung by all the leading exponents but I found Swastika best. It's really another good aspect of this beautiful actress. Though her feminine charm supersedes all other Tollywood heroines, her singing, as it seems, goes hand in hand with her own natural acting. May God bless her profusely.

ভেবেছিলাম খুব চটকদার ঝিনচ্যাক কিছু একটা হবে, ঐ আলিয়া ভট্টের গান গোছের। ভুল ভেঙে ভালোই লাগলো। স্বস্তিকার গলা ভালো লাগলো, সন্তু মুখোপাধ্যায় এর অংশটিও অসাধারণ।
