I'm really interested in velvet black, because as you said it's really interesting to see a black mix without any actual black pigment, and the name suits it very well it's such a beautiful black 🥰

The single pigment paints are really interesting. And one more orange !!! But not getting any of them as I dont have space in my palette. Really lovely video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Gooooorgeous! And hooray perylenes!! I have several artist friends who've given up on scanning because of the color change for some paints - they'll take photos, ideally in sunlight, and it is much more accurate. (But also definitely more work!)

These are really nice additions to the Roman Szmal line. They are so vibrant and lovely in your swatches, which leads me to question who is doing the product scans?🤔 They simply don’t do the paint justice. The brush is lovely as well. How do you like it? Thanks for the video😘

I love the brush, it's soooo nice! It keeps a point super well and holds a lot of paint! Watercolors (especially yellows and oranges) and notoriously difficult to scan well. They are also difficult to adjust well afterwards in editing softwares. I think taking photos of the colors might be the best way to work with that, I'll have to do more tests next time... :)

I'm very surprised at the massive difference between your scanned swatches and the brand swatches. I've noticed that happening with more Roman Szmal colours but this time? Lol their swatches completely changed the yellows.

Yellows and oranges are remarkably hard to scan well. Maybe I should try taking photos next time, that might be more accurate... (Add to that the nightmare of uncalibrated screens, these colors are a headache! XD )

id rather have the lapiz lazuli gemstone. that purple is very pretty. and the royal blue is always hard to resist despite the white.

That's always the dilemma with lapis lazuli, it's such a pretty stone! But also a pretty paint! Funny to think it was once the only way to get ultramarine blue...

It really is! I bought myself two of those, and considering buying third one, since it's limited in quantity. Don't walk - run! Lol it's honestly best I've tried so far, works beautifully

It's a bit pricey, but then again, all Lapis lazuli paints are expensive. The price comes follows the process and the rarity (or grade) of the stone itself :)

I primarily used Schmincke for years until I discovered Roman Szmal. They are such beautiful paints and a joy to work with. I'm trying to slowly collect the newer colors.

Roman szmal has really took the watercolor market by storm..... I know for me, amd many others, Roman Szmal is the ONLY place we go to get watercolor now. Price,quality and range is just unmatched! I love that most of there paints are single pigments "even there hues". I have been a Winsernewton and Daniel Smith for a few unique colors kind of person. And while I feel WN has a few colors i just love and will prob stick with......but Roman Szmal is where my money will be going. Im not brand loyal but RS had never disappointed me....

Thank you so much for the swatches! So far, I think urban gray is going to be my favorite to mix with. Also have you seen Roman Szmal on Jackson's recently? There looks like 4 new colors have been added after these ones have been released- October, Chromium Green Oxide Dark, Cobalt Blue light, and Titanium Brown.

Thank you for the video, super informative! Does anybody here know why scanned yellows and oranges appear so much darker / red-leaning? I have this problem myself & couldn't determine the cause so far. I scan my stuff and always have to work around this quirk.

They are looking all so beautiful, thank you so much for the swatches and your work to color correct your swatches, which is probably not easy and needs a lot of time. Sadly I couldn't get all the colors, in Germany I've found so far only one online shop selling Roman Szmal paints and a lot of them are sold out for weeks now, hopefully I can get them soon. Genuine Lapislazuli has a pigment code it is PB29. That's the reason most watercolor manufacturers don't include it, because the genuine Lapislazuli and the synthetic produced ultramarine have the same pigment number. But if you're looking at pigment seller like Kremer Pigmente, you can see they've included it, or for example stoneground paints also have the pigment code on their genuine Lapislazuli watercolor. 😊💜 Wish you a wonderful day and greetings from Germany 💜

Great! I love Roman Szmal colors. Little fun factoid: the colour on the wrapper is not printed. It is a real paint swatch :-) At least it was on the wrappers of the colours I ordered just a month ago...

Yes! That's true! They are painted by hand! As someone who once made handmade paints and had to wrap pans by hand, these painted labels represent so much work. I can never just discard them, I always end up sticking them in my sketchbook next to swatches XD
