I am a historian by education and even though I enjoy your content, but I do wish that you would do more research into these vintage items instead of just buying it because they are pretty. There are toxic chemicals in these vintage make ups which are already prohibited to use in our nowadays make up products. I've seen comments like mine on every video you make about swatching vintage make up and you always choose to ignore it or not believing it (hence the one video you did when you try to detect lead). We are just worried about your safety, but if you want to be a dare devil and ignorant about the dangers then go ahead.

@@RainxOnxMex I'm not being dramatic. Sure she is not going to drop dead with a little swatch, but if she keep on doing it with every vintage make up she buys, it can result to serious illness in the future due to poisoning herself. Also it's not exactly sanitary swatching 100 year old used make up on your skin. It's also common sense that you should use or swatch expired make up. I guess that has been thrown out of the window, since you think I'm being dramatic. (My 53 likes don't think so.)

She’s a grown woman. She knows the dangers of swatching it on her skin but she chooses to do it anyways. She does this a lot so she probably gets comments about the dangers all the time too. Why do people have to repeat the same fucking things over and over again despite seeing so many other comments saying it already? Also she put “don’t do this at home” as a warning. It would be best to be more thorough on the disclaimers (like putting one in pinned comment and description) though!
@trash-3058
@trash-3058 2 жыл бұрын
@ANGEL BABY I never said she was smart for doing this. I was just saying was that she’s grown enough to make her own decisions and know the dangers. She can swatch it on her skin if she wants to. Since she put the “don’t do this at home” because she gets these comments all the time then it’s clear she understands what she’s doing can be harmful to her health. I just mentioned the warning as it shows she knows about it and so I could lead into saying that she should put more. Plus if she just swatches for a second then wipes it off properly then its likely to not hurt her but someone could see that and think it’s okay to wear for long periods of time. So even though I think its unnecessary for almost every comment be the same at least it’s good for anyone who doesn’t know the dangers (since she doesn’t put the proper warnings, at least in my opinion.)

I love your channel and aesthetic but if you are going to choose to swatch well over expired makeup with unknown ingredients, please at least let your viewers know the dangers and make them aware that they shouldn’t be applying this stuff for daily use. Swatching then wiping off immediately is whatever but a lot of people don’t see how makeup can be harmful. Edit: yes i see the “don’t try this at home” stop telling me. It was not clear about the actual risks and this is the first time she put any kind of warning because people have been telling her for a while now that it’s dangerous.
@amarimochi
@amarimochi 2 жыл бұрын
She put don't try this at home on the screen, she obviously knows the risks and doesn't want others to do this. Yes she could have clarified why but I'm sure anyone who uses makeup would know already. Hell, I don't use makeup and already know.
@faeryfossil3472
@faeryfossil3472 2 жыл бұрын
@@amarimochi eh i just think it could have been better clarified, there are other videos like the lipstick swatching one where nothing is said. @KangHaerin1
@KangHaerin1 2 жыл бұрын
Let her be. majority of the viewers are already rational enough to know that these vintage makeups are harmful and she obviously does too. Do not be paranoid because there is no way an individual with a right mind who has seen her videos would just casually have the thought of buying vintage makeup out of nowhere + these items are extremely rare to find.
@faeryfossil3472
@faeryfossil3472 2 жыл бұрын
@@KangHaerin1 i don’t really see how it’s paranoid to just try to make someone aware that they are doing something that could cause them harm. Yes, she is definitely aware of it by now, yet she continues to ignore it and keeps doing it, without addressing the issue. If she wants to be dumb, whatever, all i said was that it’d prob be a good idea to let others know that this can be dangerous and overall unsanitary. P.S., vintage makeup really isn’t that hard to come by, like at all. It may be expensive but it’s not inaccessible. And purchasing these items is out of interest or as a hobby, just like she’s doing, so….
@KangHaerin1
@KangHaerin1 2 жыл бұрын
@@faeryfossil3472 I still strongly disagree about the whole "Adressing the issue" narrative, it is unnecessary.Yes, these items are still accessible. And What? Do you think underaged children would just purchase vintage makeups online? Or in vintage stores? Literally out of the blue? No way. And if it is a grown adult that had accessed through one of these items and had used it in contact with their skin then thats on them, they clearly know what they are doing and they should know the consequences. All these are merely common sense. If they know that its harmful but still choose to use the items, then its their problem. You cant just easily persuade anyone to stop especially when its someone on the internet.

@@faeryfossil3472 I’m just saying to practice what you preach and not be so contradictory. And this is pretty low risk. To say swatching old makeup is dangerous is reaching dude. Potentially harmful, possibly. Dangerous? No. She’d have to purposely and deeply inhale the powders or swallow the lipstick for it to be even close to dangerous and even then- but she’s not that stupid. She knows the risks. Let her be. It’s up to the individual to decide whether to emulate her behaviour or not. But people shouldn’t berate her with the same message over again just because they disagree with her. Especially on something as inconsequential as swatching makeup.
@faeryfossil3472
@faeryfossil3472 2 жыл бұрын
@@im-on-a-rolla_gay if she were swatching makeup that had recently expired it would be whatever, but she has consistently swatched makeup that is at least a century old, with no knowledge of how it has been preserved or taken care of, owned by random people. It hasn’t been a one-time thing. She does this a lot, and regardless of how many people tell her it is harmful, or to at least let others know it’s harmful, she ignores it and continues to do it. Eventually she could come in contact with a product her skin really doesn’t agree with and get at least a serious rash. Because not only was makeup from that time using lead in almost all of their products, it is also just unsanitary and gross. It’s not well preserved, it’s been passed around through the decades and not properly stored. She can do whatever, sure, but people who enjoy her content or personality would prefer she didn’t for her own safety. Showing herself doing it and not explaining the risks beforehand is blatantly careless. There are plenty of young and impressionable people on this platform who may not understand that this can cause serious harm overtime.

Many comments here are judgemental overreactions. I feel like one small swipe (that probably got wiped off quickly too) can't harm anyone too much, if at all. Most chemicals (especially stuff that one upon a time was worn on the skin) need prolonged exposure to a significant quantity to cause harm, and it's not like anyone is putting those on their face everyday, just for a demonstration. Chill out! The compacts are adorable, by the way!

Btw to everyone freaking out about her swatching onto her skin, yes be careful and if it irritates at all wash off immediately (tbh I would recommend that anyway after filming) but its not likely going to do any major damage - I get why people are concerned - I have sensitive skin and eczema - but I think we are becoming so fearful and losing our sense of curiosity and adventure.

Its expired but it's on her arm for a minute maybe. Chill. Don't be so afraid, even if it itches she will be fine.

all of you are being so rude??! she obviously knows that they were made with toxic chemicals; she even put "Dont try this at home". ive seen many of you calling her ignorant or plain out stupid. shes doing it for OUR knowledge aswell as her own. be thankful someone is risking their skin to give you an insight on them. love this channel, keep doing what you do

Her casually applying vintage make-ups. And me here thinking whether she will get allergies later on or its's not useable since it's expired 🤔
