She has 7 houses and OWNS them all. No mortgages and I remember from an old interview she did where she said that her mother taught her early on to pay her taxes before anything else. She said she learned from watching other artists lose everything because they ignored the IRS so she doesn't play when it comes to taxes. She must be a smart business woman to pay off 7 houses and we haven't even mentioned the cars!

Unless those houses are earning her income, buying a bunch of houses isn't an asset. It's a liability. Even if the houses are paid for, you will NEVER stop paying taxes. A smart investor only spends money that makes money.

I was born in 88 and straight into the missy timbaland era, was a club dj for 6 years left and just came back looking into the music that inspired me the most and missy and timbaland are at the top of the list. Missy and Timbaland can write music that you can listen to in the alone in the car or at a festival with 1000's because they never forgot to do it like a DJ where's as today too many producers are writing for one person to listen but forget it could be thousands. Their music will sound just as good in 10000 years because of how ahead of the curve they were here.

Hey Sway, My mum lives in Zimbabwe and Missy Elliot is her favorite artist. I live in Australia, so when the new Missy came out I called to let her know. She texted me saying she was at a funeral and could not talk. I texted her back with the link to the new Missy video & she called me back immediately. she was so happy, I had made her day and she was so happy that I remembered that Missy was her favorite rapper. I definitely love “Can We” that she did for SWV and was featured on. She said they played the song at the 1997 Vibe Soul Train after party because it had just came out and they just filmed the music video a few days prior and biggie told her that the song was dope. MTV has erased Michael Jackson's name from the video vanguard award, which was an award created especially for MJ and named after him because he kept changing the game. It's a shame. MJ was the first black artist to ever be played on MTV, if it weren't for him opening the doors for so many black artists to use this platform to promote their music, MTV wouldn't be what it is today. This sickens me! Still, I am happy that ppl like Sway still call the award the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award. Thank you for keeping the King's legacy alive.
