Based upon your video I purchased a KNV2 and absolutely love it. I understand what you said about it not being a knockoff of the LEGENDARY FALLKNIVEN F1 (I love me some FALLKNIVEN KNIVES) but it, the KNV2, is truly a great knife all on it's own. The knife I received was not shaving sharp out of the box and the blade grind was not even. It was shallow at the tip, not so shallow at the Belly and then full through the main blade to about an inch before the choil where the "micro bevel" wasn't steep enough. I have purchased many knives with this problem which I attribute to the production line, but a knife of this unique quality shouldn't have had this very basic issue in my opinion. The issue was fixed with a couple of sessions on the wet stones BUT if you don't know how to profile a blade it will be a problem. You were very correct when you said it was a robust knife. The blade is thick and extremely overbuilt. I doubt you could break it even with Muscled Up HAMMER GUY! I sincerely appreciate your appraisal of this knife and found it invaluable in making my purchase. Thank you very much, look forward to more wacky videos. Best wishes, God Bless and for cryin out loud keep your blades razor sharp!!

Hey again guys. I dont mean to rain on your parade since you like the knife and it seems to be working for you but I have a couple of things to say about it. Its perhaps not a full clone but this knife is similiar enough that it would not exist if it wasn't for the F1. I'm sure you would agree. First thing one should be aware of is that various issues have been reported with these knives. They appear to be using a fantasy steel that does not exist for one. They claim that its a special steel that only they use but you must understad that Jaktkit is not a knife manufacturer. Its a small online store for hunting equipment (Jaktkit = hunting kit). Its so small infact most people never heard of it. Alot if not all of the stuff they carry are rebranded chinese items and clones (where they put thier own logo on it rather than a fake logo ) that you can find at a fraction of the price on dx.com and such sites. As such its very unlikely they had a steel especially made for this knife. To further back up these claims, a Knv1 apparently was sent on metallurgic analysis and it turned out the steel composition didnt have single digit right and that the temper was uneven. Anyway.. its not that much cheaper than a good old reliable Fällkniven with lifetime warranty and its not a purchase you should cheap out on. The source is in swedish but if someone is interested just google "Eldflugornas herre Jaktkit" and run it through translate. (Btw, you should check out the Fällkniven Kolt. Its a Lam CoS neck knife at around 120 euro. I've found it as low as 80 euro. Would totally buy but I'm saving up for the A1 pro.)

Hey thanks for the feedback, jaktkit has received a lot of hate. I;ve heard from various sources that there have been paid reviews to help dislike jaktkit. IMO the jaktkit is just as much of a clone as something like the cod steel SRK. I agree that it might be inspired by Fallkniven. I am a huge fallkniven fan so i would not say this if I didn't believe it myself. I don't know about jaktkits other items but this knife was definitely sweet. I agree that the price gap between the jaktkit and F1 is pretty small. The sheath of the jaktkit would be worth a bit more than the f1 sheath in my opninion. If they could price the jaktkit at $99 it would have it's sweetspot I believe. The steel is actually made by Ahonest Changjiang in cooperation with Jaktkit. it's pretty much the same as 440c steel. Would I buy this over a fallkniven? personally not but for someone else the sheath, bigger size and larger handle might be a winning factor. For me steel is still key. I don't mind your honest opinion so keep them coming. it's good to discuss. all the best, maarten

Dutch Bushcraft Knives Paying reviewers to rip on it? And I just did that for free?! I demand compensation dammit! Jokes a side. Probably a rumor. Knife people can get a bit fanatic to say the least. Especially when defending top dollar purchases. Only time will tell how these knives will hold up compared to the Fällkniven. I assume its the synthetic sheaths you are talking about because the leather ones (can be bought separatley) are excellent, especialky the lidless ones.. That being said, I dont mind the zytel sheaths. They feel flimsy but I have had no problems with them so now I just like how light and compact they are. Kydex is a bit too "tacticool" for my taste. However a while back jaktkit used to sell a similiar sheath that would fit the F1, they might be around still.8
@DutchBushcraftKnives
@DutchBushcraftKnives 7 жыл бұрын
+TheKimjoh560 i also like the simplicity of the zytel sheath. I was ofcourse not talking about the leather sheaths haha. Fallkniven's leather sheaths are top notch. Indeed of the thickest leather sheaths on the market.. All the best,!

Wow, great Guys! That's a real heavy knife in 12cm class. I think the heaviest one ever. I have compared the weight to my A1 and it's just about 30 grams lighter (note: 12cm vs. 17cm!) . The firesteel notch at the handle is waste, it doesn't work. BUT the rest of the knife is just awesome in my opinion. It is carbon steel but I love it. It becames one of my favorite knifes. => Looking forward to see your test and conclusion.

Hey Bob, I've had the esee 4 and I was really disappointed by the edge retention. The 1095 @ 56HRC jsut didn't seem to work. it's tough as hell but it just doesn't keep an edge in a decent wood working angle. I don't think we'll do an esee again unless they start using a different steel. the Esee 5 is around €200,- here with sheath and all. I could get a knife with a premium steel for that instead of 1095 or 440c. we're sorry.

You guys are actually pretty easy on that knife for testing if it could be acceptable for a SF unit Should be testing if it will shatter if stabbed against armour plates or a weapon in hand to hand How the scabbard will stay in place on the tactical load out if grabbed or snagged in the field There's lots more
@DutchBushcraftKnives
@DutchBushcraftKnives 7 жыл бұрын
We might do a destruction test on it later. In the end a knife will be used 99% for side tasks and only for hand to hand combat if everything else fails. Of course this doesn't make the sturdiness less important as the knife should handle what you mention as well but these regular jobs are much more common. At first we wanted to do a destruction test actually but we already did some in the last few weeks so we wanted something else for the channel.

Hi guys, as a knife freak I have a lot of knives, a couple bark river A2 steel, my question for you guys is what is wrong with bark river A2 ?, is not the first DBK video with this affirmation. why?, I dont have any problem at all, good edge, good retention, good performance, etc. Thanks. Nice video by the way!
