Altho I am a swede and we won the rival match vs Suomi I also want to give my respect to their head coach *Jukka Jalonen* for a work well done! 3 times world champion, olympic gold, olympic bronze. His contribution to their team will surely be missed as last tournament for him. He always made playing against them a struggle. Especially every-single-time Sweden played against them. That said, the senior team of Sweden didn't get medals since 2018 so it's about time we can give a good show once more.

@@PeteWaan Probably two reasons. Some of them have already won it all. Some don't want to play against the IIHF cabinet and their well-picked referees. Finland's B-team beating the NHL cream in the 2019 championships was bad enough, so obviously Finland's C-team beating them in 2024 would have been way worse-especially when NHL is planning to take part in the 2026 Olympics. Couple of videos on that: "Russia - Finland 2014 ICE HOCKEY WORLDCUP FINAL GAMES", "In controversial fashion, Finland has OT winner waved off after review" and "'Never Forget' - Leijonat 2019 (re-up)".

Hey man, 2022 is nothing compared to the 2014 final, which was an all-time farce in iihf history. Even the boss of the IIHF was next to Putin in the stands celebrating when the players received penalties even though they didn't even touch russian player. The time was changed backwards so that the Finnish player would be in penalty for a longer time. A Russian player hits a Finn in the face with a cross stick and the Finn gets a penalty, etc much more. That's a real farce for you 2014 Minsk final

😂😂 ridiculous comment. Sweden has barely had good NHL players in previous years . Certainly a really good team this time with amazing defensemen. But still, only 7 of the 20 best scorers from the NHL season in team Sweden. Sweden has much more width than Finland in the NHL and much more players when NHL players do not participate in the tournament. Finland did well in this match and played as expected with the squad they have. They played smart defensively, but boring defensive hockey with an awfully good goaltender. Sweden was the better team and deserved to win
