Emanuel Swedenborg is a fascinating historical figure. Though he was at the top of many of his fields of study in 18th century Europe, he remains relatively unknown in the world today. This may well be because of one of the most unique features of Swedenborg's career: in his mid-fifties, he underwent a series of spiritual experiences that completely changed the trajectory of his life. He reported having extensive visions and insight into the afterlife, the nature of God, and the purpose of life here on earth. He spent the rest of his days writing down and publishing his spiritual findings in an incredibly systematic, coherent way. He ended up writing twenty seven volumes on spirituality, which had a significant impact on many important thinkers of his century and those that followed.

I have read the first 3 books featured in this video. Swedenborg is an author that has to be read slowly; each paragraph requires some reflection and meditation before moving on... but the rewards are tremendous! Swedenborg illuminates the Bible like nobody else. You are led to discover the profound depths of spiritual truth contained within God's Word, enabling you to accurately perceive the sources of good and evil both within yourself and in the world around you. It is Christianity in it's deepest, most profound form.

Swedenborg had a huge influence on Helen Keller and his writings were to bring much light and hope into Helen's dark and silent world as she had became both blind and deaf at the tender age of 19 months. Helen grew into a beautiful, well balanced and very caring lady who wrote over 12 books and who was to encourage many handicapped people to see their own self worth and their special relationship with an Eternal, Loving God.

I thank God for Swedenborg. His writings are a light on my path. When I first read his books I said to myself "this is the guy I've been looking for." Basically and what I think is his best doctrine says that in order to find happiness you have to have a use, function or purpose in this life for the health of your town, city, state, country or church. Also that life flows in, we don't live of ourselves.

For those of us who have mingled in the light of unconditional love we live the instinct of love in a divine way for those minutes or seconds. We sense the presence of Jesus. We see in the deeds of Jesus serving others and asking nothing in return, and judging nobody he healed. We realise the same instinct that all people desire to be loved. Swedenborg is saying exactly what is in the message Jesus brought for all Mankind to share. There are many accounts that share similar divine moments now as technology enables it to be shared. People always have had divine moments but had no way to share it with others. This is why many lifelong 'bad' people discover the presence of God and His truth in times of adversity and change their ways. Their old 'friends' tend to ridicule them forever afterwards. 'Swedenborg had a platform of authority and respect already in his community. That made it possible for him to share.

Every human soul makes a contribution to our society in one way or another -- each leaves part of himself or herself, and when one of us goes to the trouble of documenting his or her studies, interests, experiences, understanding, wisdom, it makes sense that we might benefit to read what such people leave behind. It is one of the ways we accelerate and accentuate our learning experience.

It is largely because he was critical of the church. His father was the Bishop of Scara, the same bishop who was the head of the Lutheran Church in the USA, and Emmanuel pointed out their errors. Swedenborg called the catholic church a false church, and he also was forthright in his analysis of many denominations that were prominent at his time - the mid 1700's.

Maybe under Divine Providence it has been given a low profile for its own protection. Swedenborg said it would definitely become big but it would take some time. He cited the first Christian church as an example of how long it could take, and that was 300 years while suffering a lot of persecution. He also said that the doctrines of the first Christian church would have to be removed from the minds of people before the ideas in his writings could be properly received there. This has only just, in these last few years, come about. All the young generations of people since the 1960's have declined to accept and commit to traditional Christian teachings and this means virtually all the older, traditionally Christian people from before that time are now dead. So, it's only now, for the first time, that Swedenborg's precondition for his writings to flourish has come into being. We may soon see his writings become widely accepted.

Emmanuel Swedenborg is the most important human in my life. I have learned so much from this man. It took me many years to read 'Arcana Coelestia', and it was like digging for diamonds in hard rock deep underground. But, after getting my first gem, the size of a golf ball, I have filled my little bucket to overflowing, not only with diamonds, but rubies, emeralds, sapphires and gems that I didn't even know existed. Now, I know that if I pick up my little pick, bucket and miners head lamp, I can go back into the mine, and get another truckload that I missed the first time. This is a very reassuring prospect. 'True Christian Religion' is a must read for anyone who loves the Lord, and every book that I have read by Emmanuel has been rewarding beyond words to tell. I believe he is a modern shaman, a spiritual discerner of great skill.

He shares God and the message of Jesus with you. Church denominations tend to preach down at us. He does not. It is not his concept. We find God in service to others. As Jesus shows us. As He did. All of us who have had similar divine encounters have witnessed the unconditional love that Swedenborg talks about. When you accept Jesus Christ as your saviour and the Holy Spirit as your teacher then the research begins through prayer. And you discover your own reborn relationship with the divine nature of God. John 16...12 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”

Corben van Loosebeak: There be gifts of liberation waiting for us herein...waiting for us to quiet and to soften our angry sense of separation. Ask and receive. This was fun to watch! I expected it might be kinda boring, knowing how dense Swedenborg’s books can be. 😂 But y’all kept it upbeat and well paced, fun space ship set, and nice graphics. I do wish there was more about the strange appearance of some of the aliens described, like wasn’t there one with a head in a strange place, and some other weird stuff? … this calls for a part two!! 😆

Conjugal Love is a fascinating book. I'm reading the Chadwick translation. There is even a scene with a devil who sounds like the Grand Inquisitor from the Dostoevsky story. There are also descriptions of the sex act which I find fascinating coming from a man in his 80th decade. Emanuel Swedenborg must have been an experienced swordsman himself!

Recently I have discovered four people within my circle who have had near death experiences. I read up on the phenomenon and discovered the Penrose Hameroff theory of quantum consciousness. It fits well with Swedenborg's ideas. Penrose and Hameroff could turn out to be the Crick and Watson of the soul and help make the afterlife more accessible to everyone which I think would be good for the planet. You can find Hameroff on You Tube.

There were 144,000 other souls that incarnated with the first perfect humans, we know as Adam and Eve. Swedenborg was certainly one of those souls to help rescue mankind, as Adam through many souls resolved in the soul known as Jesus, Eve as Mary, and now soon there will be a tremendous jump in humankind's spiritual evolution. This is what the Akashic Records tells us in its books.

Who do you think he was as a Spirit? Just another gift from God as the Bible was for the time? At each of individual period of these two, what amazes me is the fact that people in those period were not geared to really understand, but smart enough to leave nice traces for us to find, or remember. You are also one of them by giving us the privilege of learning as new the so many infinity in the simple Word of God, thank you for permitting me to renew with God inside myself.

I personally think that Swedenborg was not anyone inherently special apart from perhaps being the most intelligent non-divine human being of all time (He's been mentioned in the Guinness Book of Records as being the person who perhaps had the highest IQ of all time). That the revelation given by God through him was supposed to be the ultimate explanation of Truth for Humanity, and that humanity had now reached its adult ability to understand everything to do with spirituality, would suggest it was now feasible that an sufficiently intelligent person of that time was capable of fully understanding and explaining it to others through his own natural intelligence. God would not now have to resort to using a human being purely as a instrument through which he would have to dictate his message, as in previous ages. Still, Swedenborg did say that God had to fill the person doing this job with his Spirit in order for it to happen. And this would mean, according to Swedenborg's own writings, that he would have had to have been personally regenerated. There's plenty in his Journal of Dreams and throughout his writings to suggest this was the case. So basically what I'm saying is that God explained the information to Swedenborg, and Swedenborg, who understood it both intellectually and spiritually, then passed it on.
